This sound bar doesn’t work well with T.V.s of other brands, which is unfortunate, because the televisions made by this brand aren’t very good. That being said, the sound quality is excellent but the learning curve is huge. My teen can’t even figure out how to make it work, so they can only use it if I am there to re-set it each time. I have a Roku TV so the soundbar automatically connected to the TV. A demo tab came up on the TV which allowed me to hear right away how impressive this little soundbar is. I didn’t have to use the soundbar remote at all to make adjustment to the bass, background sound, voices, ect. Really easy and packs a punch for not having a subwoofer. The on sale price was a plus.

I bought a new TCL QLED TV which has the Google OS to replace a Element LED which had the Roku OS and paired a TCL sound bar to it. Let me tell you, pairing a sound bar using the Roku OS was effortless, doing the same with the Google OS was anything but effortless. I wish TCL offered the Roku OS on other than the bottom level of their TVs. The sound bar is only part of our missing the Roku OS, so much so we have discussed attaching a Roku streaming device and skipping the Google OS as much as we can.

Purchased this along with a TCL Q6 Google smart tv. Pairing sub with the soundbar did not automatically occur - but there was a fix in the literature on how to get it to pair. There is no treble or bass control on the soundbar - you have to down load an app in order to control the treble and bass. Also the touch controls on the top of the bar are very quirky - one would expect as soon as you touch or press the on icon it would turn on - not so. same with the blue tooth synch button on top - does not automatically light up. Oddly, it appears you can slide your finger across from the power icon to the Bluetooth - this doesnt seem to be right. Of course the manual has little info on it and contacting the offshore people at tcl and speaking with a CSR who doesnt know anything and puts you on hold for 15 mins to ask about the issue - whats time. Perhaps this soundbar is defective? other soundbar owned your simply touch the icon and it turns on or you touch the Bluetooth and it lights to pair - this you literally slide across which is strange and I happened to do this by chance. Better comprehensive literature would be great. Also not Alexa compatible which is a disappointment. The TV is but cannot control the volume using the alexa word command to increse volume or decrease volume - all other commands work.

I purchased this to give my TV an extra boost and it does the job well. I really like the Bluetooth feature, as it also works as its own speaker for streaming music, etc. While it could stand to have a little more low end, it still sounds full and does the job well for the price point. Omg. I love this sounds bar. This little bar kicks out a mean punch. It’s very apartments friendly. Not a lot of bass although you can adjust it, but it definitely does the job. I’m happy with my purchase.

The S55H music system has a soundbar and a subwoofer. But the bass is only reproduced by the subwoofer. If the subwoofer is turned off, the soundbar has no bass, only mids and highs. I also own an S45H (without a subwoofer). According to the documentation, the S55H and S45H are exactly the same, the only difference is in the subwoofers. The S45H plays bass very well. Why is this sound quality not preserved in the S55H soundbar body? Sometimes, for example, in the evening, I don't want to have strong bass tones from the subwoofer, because they disturb my family and neighbors. Is it a defect in my piece or is it a bug/feature? (maybe firmware or internal construction without a bass reflex)?
