This works, but I wish the opening was larger for larger litter scoops. The plastic one it comes with takes too long to scoop. I prefer my large metal scoop, and I have to be very careful not to spill litter from the sides when I drop it into the litter pail.

This has made cleaning our litter boxes much less of a hassle and has helped with odors in our house. I used to hate cleaning the litter boxes. If you are hesitating to buy the litter genie BUY it! It is so worth the money. I love not having to constantly have throw away litter bags. The liners also last so long! I have 2 cats and they last me at least a month if not more.
