The Vicks VapoPads that are used with this vaporizer are not recommended for infants under 10 lbs (4.5 kg), and for children between 10-22 lbs (4.5-10 kg), we advise using no more than 2 VapoPads within a 24-hour period. We were already familiar with the scent pads as we own one of their humidifiers that uses the scent pads, but this I can plug in right next to my bed and get relief quickly and efficiently. The scent is strong at first but honestly they fade a little too quickly for my liking and I wish that they would last a little longer. They really do help ease the stuffiness in my nasal passages though so I'll keep using them!

It could be that my bedroom is just too big, or it could be where my outlets are located, but it never got very strong in my room. I used two of the vapo pads and had it on high, and it left a faint aroma. Another thing is the pads- they do not last very long. If you are going to be home sick, you will need to change the pads every 12 hours or so if you run this on high.

My daughter's room is not that small and this lasted and full of menthol all over her room, I recommend it 100%

This is my favorite product so far. I like how easy it is to use; no goopy salve to rub on chest or feet, and no steamy humidifier putting too much moisture into my home. It's so easy to use, just slip in a vapor pad and plug it in. I like that it has a nightlight to help light a darkened room while I check on my kiddos. I also like that it produces the right amount of menthol laden vapors. Not too much to overpower the room, but enough that it assists my kiddos in breathing when they are feeling under the weather. I use this in my room as well, and I have since gotten an additional unit so I have one for each of my kids rooms. I love these units, and I have recommended these to others as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently decided to try this Vicks vaporizer out to help out as my family was working through a nasty cold. The vaporizer activated very quickly and only took a few minutes before you could smell the Vicks vapor smell in the air. We set the vaporizer on the lowest level to start just to make sure that it wasn't overwhelming and the low level was plenty for us. I'm not sure how much it helped with our congestion, but I imagine it was doing something based on the fact that we could actually smell while it was working. The pack that I got came with 3 of the vapor pads. They're easy to setup and place in the vaporizer. Once inserted, you simply plug into an outlet and adjust to your desired setting. The vapor pads don't last very long at all, especially if you set on the higher settings, so I'd suggest buying some backups.

I found it works best when plugged into a socket closest to where you sleep, and not in a large room. Make sure there is airflow, or it won't work as intended. Also make sure to use 2 pads for maximum benefits at night. Using both pads when I slept genuinely helped me sleep better, but not as well as Vicks vaporub applied on my chest.

We usually use a big, bulky unit that takes more steps to set up and use. This vaporizer is perfect and so easy to use! It works as well as the bigger units, but in a much simpler package! We will purchase more for other rooms.
