I previously used flocked hot rollers, trying to avoid damage, but now I have stunning, lasting curls without damage. No matter what hot tool you’re using, Great Barrier is the most essential styling product. It smells amazing and leaves no weird residue on your hair. Your hair remains touchable, soft and feels natural. It has no hold, no stickiness and no shine. It somehow protects your hair from heat, while not changing anything about the natural feel of your hair. You can run your fingers through it, and so can your significant other! :) I wash my hair every 3rd day, because it’s so dry, and I can do that, because this product doesn’t leave a layer of gunk or oiliness on my hair. It’s no problem to shampoo out and doesn’t build up on hair. If you need a bit of touchable, soft hold, finish with Beachwaver Team Texture spray. Use Beachwaver Second Chance dry shampoo, just at the roots, between shampoos, after the gym, etc. If you want extra shine, finish with Shine Squad (I’m going to try that, next.) The scent is overwhelming. The online description says you can spray it on damp or dry hair but the can says dry and doesn’t mention damp. It is supposed to offer heat protection but the second ingredient is denatured alcohol which dries my hair out. I can’t imagine heat plus this will help protect my hair. It also supposed to offer some hold but does not. I don’t want to spray more on my hair for hold because the scent is overwhelming and lingers. I do not recommend.
