The Doux Just Glaze Silkening Fluid Heat Protectant - 2 fl oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was a lightweight serum type texture. It did not make the hair feel weighed down and had a nice light scent. It worked well in conjunction with the other Doux silk press products.

I love having a heat protectant that is non-greasy and works so much better than anything else I’ve used to keep my hair sleek when pressed! I put it in my hair immediately after a shower while my hair is soaking wet, then I blow dry and flat iron to perfection. Just note that this entire Press Play line is amazing but you only should choose ONE heat protectant finishing product for best results; layering them thinking you’ll get more protection just wastes product.

This is the best heat protectant I've tried. You only need a little bit to cover each section of your hair. It protects my hair well even at the highest setting of my blow dryer.

I am a straight natural with coily, medium-density hair. I love this product! I used the Design Essentials Silk Serum for years; this is just as good, if not better. I purchased it about 9-10 months ago and am finally running out. I use about a dime size per quadrant, and my hair never feels weighed down or tacky.

I am so pleased with this product. I style my natural hair with a flat-twist out on blow dried hair. I applied the Doux Drops and Just Glaze before blow drying. I love that you only need a little of each product to get great results. My hair dried fast and had a nice smooth finish with lots of shine and movement. My strands felt so strong and healthy. After blow drying, I flat twisted my hair with Gangster Wrap and achieved beautiful, fluffy, softly defined waves. I know silicones sometimes get a bad rap, but I’ve found them to be almost essential for protection and style longevity when it comes to heat styling natural hair. Just make sure you shampoo regularly, clarify as needed and only use products with silicones that are professionally formulation…like these! I was in a pinch and couldn’t find my usual CHI silk infusion. I like some of the Doux foam, so I decided to give this a go. I have mid-back length, type 4 hair. I blow dried my hair in 8 sections, and I used about 1 pump on each section. It worked okay, by hair was still puffier than I prefer, but it wasn’t terrible. My issue was that by the time I finished, the bottle was about 1/2 empty - which is kinda wild considering it’s $15.

Purchased this to use with the revair. Left hair soft with movement. The revair normally leaves hair feeling dry and stiff. Followed with the tymo to straighten hair. Great results! Deducted one star for the size you get for the original price. Purchase mine on clearance for half off. Will repurchase on sale.

I was looking for a good heat protectant and I already use the mousse for my wash & go days, so I went with this silkening fluid. What I like about it is that it goes on light and doesn't weigh down my hair, and once I'm done blow drying it, it doesn't leave a greasy residue. Not only that, my silk presses last SO much longer after using this. The ends of my hair are admittedly not the best, but you wouldn't know it after I've straightened it out with this product. It's actually got me looking forward to flat ironing my hair which has NEVER happened in all the years I've ever done it. The scent of the product is noticeable but not horrible, and it fades very quickly after it's dried down anyway. The only bad thing I have to say about it is that the pump was stuck when I got it so I have to screw open the top and use it that way. Not enough for me to give the product itself less than 5 stars, mind you LOL But I do wish the pump had worked.

I’m not a fan of putting products with this type of texture on my hair when blow drying and straightening because they weight my hair down and my hair gets that burnt smell. This product gives my hair that added shine. And I Love the pump on this.
