Description

SuperMoss Orchid and Nursery Sphagnum Moss is a premium grade, long fiber, and long-lasting sphagnum. Its long fibers and superior water retention properties make it ideal for lining Hanging Baskets and using as soil cover in window boxes and house plants. Sphagnum helps you take the guesswork out of watering your garden plants by absorbing up to 18 times its weight in water! Sphagnum moss provides water to the roots according to the plant's needs, while allowing for optimum oxygenation so that the roots can uptake vital micronutrients. It makes for an excellent soil conditioner or top layer on potted plants like Orchids! Use Nursery Sphagnum when transplanting, aerating soil, conditioning, or just dressing up any potted plant! Available in SuperMoss retail packaging or in bulk quantities.

Q: Do I sock it in water before I use it.

  • A: I wouldn't soak the entire thing, break off what you need as you need it and squeeze the excess water out.

  • A: Yes, when using with plants or aroid moss poles. Spaghnum moss is best used as a moistened but not soaked propagation media, with orchids and certain tropical plants especially. After soaking allow it to lose enough water so that it is moist but not damp. It’s a very versatile substrate but don’t use it in soil mixes as it’s a waste. Peat moss or coir is better for that.

NOT the mini bale as advertised!

What is shown here is NOT what is being sold in store. In store is NOT their mini bale. It's what is called the "retail pack" on the Supermoss website (.33lbs). FALSE ADVERTISING. (and yes, I did go scope it out at two different stores)
