I usually wear NC25 and didn't realize they were changing the formula and shades! This is a completely different color now. It looks so gross and orange. Such a disappointment.

I've worn powder foundation for a good 15 years or more. I've been using the original Studio Fix Powder for the last 6 years. Out of all the previous powder foundations I've tried, the original Studio Fix had the best coverage and best color match for me (NC10). I went into the new formula already skeptical and my feelings were confirmed after trying it...my once perfect color match was now darker and had considerable less coverage. To get any decent coverage you have to pack it on which then just looks super powdery & still didn't have the coverage I was used to. I can understand brands wanting to remove talc from foundations because of potential risks, but they need to find a suitable replacement for it! I tried a few other talc free foundations to try to find a replacement, but I ran into the same issues with color and coverage with everything I tried. I think I may have finally found a replacement in Clinique's Beyond Perfecting powder foundation. It seems to have pretty similar coverage to the original Studio Fix, it just has a very limited color selection.

After my last purchase, I was completely unaware that the formulation had changed. after 30 years of loyalty. I sadly have to say goodbye to Mac Studio Fix. Like many others, the color was completely different. But even more disturbing. When I tried to give it a chance. It literally crumbled and broke in my makeup bag in my purse. In less than 3 days after the purchase. Complete waste of money. Studio fix has been my go-to for most of my makeup wearing existence. Not sure why they thought to change it. But my business has now gone elsewhere. Will miss the old formulation, original compact and sponge that actually worked. Not to mention the older formulation would last three plus months of daily use. As I stated before this crumbled in my purse in less than 3 days.

I got the new compact two weeks ago of my beloved Studio Fix which I've been using for many years. I have already hit the pan. Not joking. My compacts used to last me so long I would wonder if it was safe to still be using it, like was it still hygenic? This is insane what Mac has done. They've ruined this product and I'm sure this is some shady "shrinkflation" situation and well, no way am I buying foundation this often. Are you kidding???

Why are we shade changing

Been using NC20 for yearsssss, did my most recent order and received a shade that is orange, and not even remotely light skinned adjacent. I thought maybe it was me and there had just been an error in manufacturing, went to the reviews and come to find out that tons of other customers are experiencing this too. Why would you change shades that have been established for years, if not decades, and not even alert your customers?? And make matters worse I can't even find the actual shade I want anymore. Guess I won't be using Mac anymore.

As with many others, I've been using this foundation for over a decade. When I re-ordered about a month ago, I was hoping that just the shades/numbers had changed. Nope. It all changed. First off, the shade that MAC recommended for me was off in a bad way. But mostly, the consistency of the foundation is different, and the coverage is not the same. For full coverage, it takes a lot more and it also seems like there's just less product overall. The powder seems more dry and powdery. I'm not any kind of makeup expert, so it's hard for me to explain, which is why I don't normally write reviews for makeup. However, I felt obligated to write a review because I loved this foundation, and used it for over a decade. Fortunately, I saved many of my old mostly used MAC compacts (with the old formula), so I'm going to be living off those until I can find a new foundation. Bad move, MAC. You're losing a lot of loyal customers.

WHY did they decide to change the formula when there was nothing wrong with the original? I've tried two different shades because my original was NC40 and I've been unable to find anything that matches close to that not even the current NC40. When applying this foundation, it's like weird and chalky. It also settled into my skin weird, exposing every single pore and blemish on my face. I'm really sad that I'll have to find a new powder foundation. The original was so much better. MAC really messed up with this one.

Im so confused. I thought MAC was changing the packaging, but they definitely changed the formula and shades, yet are still labeling them the same. Ive been using this same product and shade for like 18 years to set my face foundation and undereye concealer. It always worked wonderfully and matched so I never switched brands or even tried a new product. So, when my last one was almost fully gone I ordered this so it would be there once I need a new one. As soon as I opened it, procduct was everywhere and it was completely cracked and smashed. None of the other blushes and bronzers I bought in the same order were damaged, just this one; that leads me to believe its an issue with their new formula/packaging. Idk but I couldnt even press all the powder back in to make it usable (like its to the point where I cant even put it in my purse because its that messy). Also cant return it because thats a hassle in itself and im sure the window has passed. So I essentially spent that money on a product that isnt usable. Lastly, the shade change. Im a pale girl, and have only used the same shade (even before applying this, you can hold it next to the old one and see a huge difference- to the point where i checked the sticker on the bottom to see if maybe they accidentally sent me a diff shade). I dabbed up some of the powder from this new compact to set my undereye concealer and its suuuper warmed tone and orange looking. Something labeled as neutral cool shouldnt pull orange or be that drastically different. At this point idk if I should just wing it and try their lightest shade they sell, knowing with this new formula that itll likely pull darker now (so maybe thatll work?).

I've been a loyal mac user for over 20 years. Unfortunately, after this new formula came out I will be looking for a new compact. The color selections (specifically for lighter skin tones) are terrible. I could tell immediately when applying product to the brush that it was different. After using for less then a week I pulled it out and the entire thing had crumbled. I returned it and got another and im pretty sure its going to happen. I'm extremely disappointed in Mac and their recent changes. I will definitely not buy this product again.

I've been using this powder for over 10 years! Much to my surprise the formula has changed. It does not contain talc, has a refillable pan, is actually smaller than the old and the shades are insanely off. I was able to exchange for another shade luckily HOWEVER my face is left shiny, textured and orange!! Not good and not happy with how much I spent and have spent on this product!

I think they changed the formula from the previous studio fix. It is not as long wearing as original foundation. also, I wear NC 10 and comparing the 2 side by side, the color difference is evident. The new formulation is much darker than the original. The coverage is not as good either. I am not sure if I will buy this brand again for foundation powder.

New formula is garbage — I've been using this product for years and years but now the new formila has ruined it completely. Bought the same shade i always do and it's definitely not the same shade its noticeably different. It is so powdery and breakable, i hit pan in days where as in the past, one compact would last me at least 6 months. No longer leaves the same flawless effect. What a shame of an amazong product.

I have worn this foundation for years and was very disappointed to try the new formula. The color is completely different, the coverage is not the same, and the foundation falls all over you similar to a loose powder. Was unaware of the new formula when I placed my order and was surprised at these changes. The ladies at my local Ulta were very helpful and let me exchange this makeup and assisted me in finding a new foundation in a different brand that I will try. Please bring back the old formula!

D;MLAWDL;M;lsm; I have used this powder for over 20 years, and MAC has always been consistent. I could trust what I was buying. This is not the same powder foundation. The NC 20 is more orange than neutral, it is now a shade or two darker than what it used to be, and only lasted about one week, when the same amount used to last a couple of months. I am incredibly disappointed. I would no longer recommend buying this foundation, and it has been my go-to for many years.
