Tony's Chocolonely Gooey Milk Caramel Sea Salt Filled Chocolate Bar - 4.76oz

I tried both of the new Tony’s Chocolonely filled bars, and I was most excited for the Caramel. Unfortunately, the salt is INTENSE, with 105mg per serving vs. 20mg in the Chocolate Ganache filled bar. The salt is unevenly distributed, and in large granules, so it’s easy to have it overwhelm your entire palate. I was not really able to enjoy the caramel or chocolate, but I can recognize the quality is still good. If you loveeeee EXTRA salted caramel, go at it! Otherwise, maybe pass.

I actually really liked this chocolate bar. It reminded me of the sea salt caramel chocolate bars from Dollar General. The caramel in the middle was my favorite part. It wasn't too much and tasted really good with the chocolate. I'd definitely buy this again.

These are much smaller than standard Tony’s bars yet they’re still priced like they’re full sized. They also don’t taste that good, the caramel pieces mixed into the chocolate are clearly just filler to reduce the amount of actual chocolate used. As a result they’re overwhelmingly sweet and don’t have much flavor beyond sweet with salt dumped on top depending on how much you get in each bite. There is no balance and the chocolate flavor is an afterthought, as is the small amount of soft caramel actually in the bar. Even on sale for $3.99 these are a bad value.

The milk chocolate was perfect and super creamy. The caramel with the salt combination was amazing. It held together very well and broke nicely, so I was able to enjoy it throughout the week. Packaging was simple and average easy to open and close. They’re branding is really awesome. I will say that the branding is very cool!

This is so good that I don’t usually love chocolate bars, but it has a good amount of filling, and the crunchy bits are really tasty. It’s a sweet and salty combination.

The filling has just enough salt for the flavor without overdoing it so no salty aftertaste. The packaging made me feel like I was opening the famous chocolate bar from the movie searching for a golden ticket!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never tried Tony's Chocolonely chocolate before so I was excited to try it out I was not disappointed at all the chocolate has a nice smooth mouth feel and a nice snap when you either bite into it or break off a piece the caramel is not chewy or sticky and the salt gives a nice crunch and isn't over powering or give a salty taste. I can't wait to buy and try other flavors of this chocolate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bar of Tony’s Chocolonely Filled Milk Chocolate with Crunchy Gooey Caramel Sea Salt complimentary for testing purposes. I had never seen or heard of this brand previously, but my candy type of preference is chocolate bars and caramel is one of my favorite flavors for desserts, so this seemed like a match made in heaven—and it totally delivers! This is a thicker chocolate bar that has good snap to it when you bite; it does get melty in your fingers after a few minutes. The caramel layer is just the right thickness to be flavorful without being too gummy/sticky or drippy while you’re enjoying the candy. The sea salt is very noticeable—be prepared for the combo of sweet and salty to overtake the chocolate taste. It’s a sizeable bar (photo shows only half), but do be careful when breaking it in pieces because it really doesn’t have score lines to get even pieces; the bar has a fun rocky/geometric pattern with the brand logo in it and it’s a fun touch. The packaging says you can get about 4 servings from the bar, and I think that’s a good assessment because half a bar in one sitting as my dessert felt a bit too rich—it goes great with a glass of cold milk. Lastly, the ingredients seem to be a bit higher quality than the average chocolate bar at the grocery store, including: fair trade cocoa and sugar, a pretty simple blend for the sated caramel, whole milk, chocolate liquor, and caramel pieces that you don’t necessarily see but you can taste the textural difference when you’re biting. The packaging also included information on the inside about Tony’s Chocolonely’s “bean to bar” cocoa sourcing and their humanitarian efforts for the African cocoa farmers they work with. So overall this is a really wonderful caramel milk chocolate bar that tastes good and does good. Highly recommend as an occasional treat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a huge fan of the brand, but unfortunately the balance of flavors was not my favorite for this iteration. The design of the bar and the way they injected the filling was genius though and I hope they continue to experiment in this regard. The texture of the bar was also spot on and very easy to split bite-sized pieces and save for later. Nice crunch and if you’re careful not very sticky or messy. Overall, definitely worth a try and although it wasn’t my favorite it could very well be yours!

The crunchy pieces give it a great texture and you can really taste the cocoa flavor. The bar is thick and feels heavy for its size, It has a nice pattern. Unfortunately it came on a 90 degree day and sat in a metal mailbox in the sun. By the time I got to it it was completely melted. I threw it in the fridge hoping to save it but it was too far gone.
