The bookshelf is great, and assembly was generally OK - minus one star because the tool for installing the hardware (an Allen key with a Phillips slot on the long side) made assembly much more difficult than it needed to be, especially in the tight corners of the bookshelf. This product would be 100% great if the hardware could be adjusted a bit to speed up assembly.

Pros: It was surprisingly easy to assemble and the assembly instructions were self-explanatory. All components/parts are labeled/numbered. You definitely need an electric screwdriver :))! The finished bookshelf feels very solid. Cons: The shelf heights are preset and not adjustable.

It does what I need - to display my military medals and coins. The bottom shelf is quite low and I didn't use it. The instructions didn't teach much about attaching the X brackets or making sure the holes line up before driving the screws. My bad, I should have paid more attention. It has two straps to secure it to the wall so it doesn't tip over.

Exactly like the picture! I love that it can be used as two separate shelves or as one large shelf, perfect for transforming your space and giving you more room for things, very versatile! Easy assembly, great quality, and great value!

Very solid bookcases, much better than those cheap ones I used to get at costway (no offense costway, they fall apart in a year or so). It takes a while to assemble them, so you might need to get someone to help, but it's solid wood, held together with metal screws, and reinforced with binder clips on the back. You can roughly move these things around and they won't fall apart. They will definitely last a long time. The only thing I would stress is that if you're used to bookcases where you can adjust the spacing of the shelves, these are not adjustable. Once they're screwed in, they won't move, so be aware that you'll probably only be able to put large items in them. Other than that, these bookcases are great. Very good value for the money. I'll be ordering a few more for my home soon.

recommend turning it upside down and using the plastic pieces that were originally used to support the back panel to pad the underside of the shelf for added support. The second picture is another shelf made of the same material, assembled the same way I assembled it seven years ago. Of course, the old shelf is about 3 inches longer and 4 inches wider, so the assembly method will be different. As you can see, the weight of the textbooks eventually caused the wood around the screws to break. The screws inside the wood don't support the weight as well as the brackets under the shelf. You can also see that the moisture caused my old shelf to bend, but these new shelves are shorter at both ends, which will greatly alleviate this problem because they are more compact and will inevitably not bear as much weight. The back panel is designed to better support the weight of the shelf. Use a piece of plastic as a spacer like in the first picture, because once the screws are stuck, it will pull the plastic brackets down a little. However, leaving a little margin at the beginning can make the whole shelf more perfect. All in all, I love these matching shelves. They are beautiful and durable. I estimate that they will last for more than ten years. Just be aware that I live in the southeast and humidity often exceeds 60% in the summer even with central air conditioning, so anything made from particle board doesn't last long. That same week I also built a heavier duty shelf out of solid wood that will last 50+ years but cost twice as much. Each board has its own purpose and both work great.
