There are two situations for your reference: If you only want to skip installing the middle storage shelf boards and keep the full desk frame and side support stands, that’s totally fine. The shelf boards are optional accessories and not required for structural support. You can leave them out during assembly, and the L-shaped desk will still stay stable and work well as a regular table. However, if you want to leave out the entire side support frame completely to remove that whole section, we don’t recommend doing that. It will affect the overall stability and structural balance of the desk.
