The jute rug is very well made. It was smoother to walk on than I expected. I don't think a pad is necessary because of the backing.

Absolutely love..bought for bathroom ..it's hard finding perfect fit because narrow...I live at beach and want coastal feel..it is more golden than my other one and has backing on it which makes it feel sturdy

I really like this runner. It took several days for the corners to stay down with heavy books, but otherwise it is substantial, nice quality, and has held up. I would purchase again.
