Nuloom Melrose Checked Wool Blend Area Rug, 12' x 15', Brown

I love the look of this rug. So much I bought it in moss for our bedroom and cream for our living room, but my *** it sheds SO MUCH. To the point I’m now looking for new rugs. I understand wool rugs shed for a time, but it’s now been over a year and we fill up our Dyson every. single. week. just with fibers from this rug. It’s so bad. And we have dark wood floors so these fibers show up everywhere. But the rug itself is beautiful.

As other reviewers mentioned there are bumps in the rug from the packaging but they seem to be flattening over time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been intensely researching rugs for our living room for weeks and finally decided to just take a risk on the Melrose. It was so inexpensive compared to some others I looked at so figured it was a risk but hoped for the best. WOW. The quality is incredible, with 100% wool and a chic, modern with a slight masculine vibe. It is soft, has not shed, and both dog and baby (and husband!) love it!

I was really excited about the NuLoom Melrose Checked Wool Blend Area Rug because it looked beautiful when it first arrived. Unfortunately, that didn’t last. Within just three months, the wool fibers began shedding excessively, and the rug quickly started to fall apart. It went from looking like a great purchase to something I had to throw away. When I reached out to Target to request a return or exchange, I was told the item was outside the return window for Target+ purchases. The problem is, I couldn’t find this policy clearly stated anywhere on their website. It felt misleading and frustrating. I also contacted NuLoom directly, and they pushed the responsibility back onto Target, saying returns for defective items must go through the retailer. So in the end, neither company took accountability. Now I’m out $80 with nothing to show for it. Extremely disappointing experience all around. Buyer beware.

Exactly what I was looking for. The grey checked pattern is very subtle. The rug seems very sturdy and I like that it’s all wool and cotton. Our dog approves as well.
