Not like cotton at all
These socks, which claim to feel like cotton, are nothing like the Hanes cotton socks I bought years ago and lasted for years. There is a lot of elastic, which caused my feet to itch. Hanes should make black crew socks for women that are really made from cotton, like the old ones.

I really like these socks. I was a little concerned because of some of the not so positive reviews but I'm glad I bought them. I've had a problem in recent years finding crew socks that aren't too tight around my ankles. These don't have that issue. I like the weight of them. I'm very happy with the price, as well.

The fit is nice, socks are on the thin side, only 49% Cotton Content
I love the fit of Hanes socks but I'm disappointed that they went from 83% cotton content to 49% cotton on their white socks. Their socks are also thinner compared to the last package that I bought as I could my toes were opaquely visible and I need lots of padding in my shoes in the form of thick socks. Polyester causes my feet to slide back and forth inside the shoe, causing blisters so I have to have a high cotton content. Please offer a high cotton sock even if you charge more for it because cotton is worth it!

No matter how many times I wash these socks inside out, the material is shedding constantly; my feet are covered with fuzz after I take them off. I do not have this problem with any other socks I have. They're also not very soft. At this point I will probably throw them away.

Why can’t you make 81% cotton white crew socks
Hanes used to make model 683b3 which was 81% cotton, 17% polyester, 1% spandex, 1% nylon. They made them as recently as 2022. Then Hanes stopped and replaced them without caring with mostly polyester slapped “cooling” on the and then reduced the foot volume by slapping “arch support” whoever heard of a sock actually providing arch support? It just means they are super tight and because they’re not cotto, they’re not going to give. People want cotton socks for many reasons and sometimes polyester is the right thing but many people want mostly cotton socks so please get the message. I see that you offer them in black but not white. Why is that?

Cheaper materials
This has been by go-to sock for years. Needed to get a few pairs and I am hugely disappointed. Previous socks had elastic strong enough so that they could hold up to the loafers I wear to work. These new ones felt cheaper the moment I opened the package, and sure enough, they are "eaten" by my shoes. Total waste of money, and now I have no go-to sock.
