Premium White Chunk Chicken in Water - 5oz - Good & Gather™

This is usually pretty good for a cheap protein source-- fattier than the name brand stuff, but overall it's fine. Lately, however-- complete 180. I open the cans up and there's a smell is so strong that I gag and have to throw it all away outside! Even my husband (who doesn't smell very well) could smell it and said it was bad. The cans themselves look intact and the chicken doesn't look any different-- but random cans lately are stinkbombs! Complete waste of money and I will change brands now to avoid it.

Fatty and questionable looking. I will be spending the extra money from now on to buy the name brand where there is no obvious fat.

So I always buy these for my son who’s home from college he likes to watch his weight and diet and up until s few days ago never had a problem..he opened the can which the pull-top can was fine and intact but immediately he said dad this is bad and I could already smell the foul smelling product! Told him to double bag it it and take it immediately outside to the trash cans.. I know it’s only like $1.39 per can something like that but I tried to start a refund on the app to at least get my money back and they want you to either bring the can in or I believe that is actually the only option you can’t do a drive up not that it would matter. It was taken away with the garbage the next day do better, Target.!

Upon opening the can of “Premium White Chunk Chicken” I was genuinely surprised by the substandard quality of the contents. Instead of the expected substantial, recognizable pieces of chicken—a primary characteristic of quality canned poultry—the can was overwhelmingly filled with excess liquid. Interspersed within this liquid were merely indistinct, shredded 'bits' of chicken, entirely lacking the desired flaky consistency. Most disturbingly, the product contained numerous mushy, opaque white pieces, which I can only surmise to be unrendered fat or connective tissue, rendering the product highly unappetizing and unappealing. This composition stands in stark contradiction to the consistent quality and desirable texture I associate with reputable canned chicken products, which typically feature discernible, tender chicken, which can easily be flaked apart with a fork. . The overall appearance, texture, and presumed composition of your product fell significantly below any reasonable expectation, making it entirely unsuitable for its intended culinary purpose. I had anticipated a versatile and reliable ingredient; what I received was profoundly disappointing and a clear deviation from acceptable product standards.

Do you not take inventory on your products always unavailable it’s getting ridiculous!!!

this is great! my toddler even loves it. instead of tuna we do chicken sandwiches.

Don’t normally choose canned meat but was working through some options for pre surgery diet restrictions and decided to try. Was pleasantly surprised at how easily this blended into a dish. Didn’t like the amount of water that was drained off but overall will buy again for quick and easy protein needs.

I'm surprised that the bad reviews but I think the way they describe it they got a can that was just an odd one out because I really like this canned chicken it's very cheap and for me it makes three sandwiches but I don't glop it on high for a thick sandwich. Once you mix it with mayonnaise after you drain the water maybe I could even get for sandwiches. For others it might be two sandwiches if they like a lot of chicken piled between the bread. I find it's always been very nice no fat chicken pieces and only water to drain every single time and I've bought maybe 20 cans of this product.

Only half was chicken. Yellow fat globs were the first thing I saw. It smelled more like tuna than chicken. Will not buy again.

after draining, there were 51 grams of chicken. so the ENTIRE can wasn't even enough for ONE serving (56g according to the label).

High quality chicken. I haven't seen any price better than Target.

Doesn’t come with a lot of chicken at all. I got it to make some chicken salad but just ended up feeding it to my cats.

I love this product but the price rose fr $1.39, and now costs $1.89 per can!

Where’s the chicken? The 141g can had 71 grams of chicken after emptying the water. I bought chicken stock.

Great except that the price has been going up 10-20 cents every couple months. Was $0.99 less than a year ago and now it’s up 50% to $1.49

Reasonable price for size. Good product for salads or sandwiches. Always get them when available.
