Defective?
I really like the lamps, HOWEVER, why is there 2 feet extra cord coming out the top on both lamps and no instructions? I can't push the cord back down into the lamp and I can't screw the socket assembly to the base because of this. There's no instructions on what to do with this extra 2 feet of cord coming out the top?

Fragile Lamp
We bought this lamp to replace another mercury glass lamp that our rambunctious kitten knocked off the table. Unfortunately this one is even lighter weight and rather wobbly. Pretty lamp, but I don’t give it much chance of survival unless I can find a way to add weight to the base.

Nice lamp
I liked this lamp but unfortunately had to return it because it was rusted on the metal part of the shade. Otherwise it was a good size, pretty lamp and nice shade. I would recommend it despite the issue I had because I think it was an isolated incident.
