  • A: The trundle face is about 11.25 inches high and the back that goes under the bed is about 4 inches. This does not include the mattress, only the frame.

Backward headboard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the bed, but I think that one of the headboards is backwards. Meaning that the lip faces the wrong way. Once I realized this, I tried to find a way to fix the problem but it is not possible based on where the screw holes are. I’m hoping it does not affect the integrity of the structure. The 3 y/o twins love them! One thing though, (and this is not a complaint, it took a lot of time, and I mean a lot of time to put together! That was the only downside. But to see the smiles on the boys faces when they got home from preschool was priceless!

Bottom bed view is

Bottom bed view is terrible from under the top bed. My kid stares into metal pieces as loose wood pieces above his head. Terrible sight for a child to look into before they sleep . It's eat to support the top bed but it should of atleast came with a cover. Also top bed support bar from child falling is Low and loose. I would not recommend. Also bottom trundle side wood bed support pieces are exposed with no cover as well.

Fabulous purchase!

We're really happy with this purchase. Shopped around for quality construction and reasonable pricing. Max and Lilly bunks are all of that! We purchased two set, one with the trundle and one without so they can be positioned as a L and save space. The solid hardwood is beautiful. We were very impressed with the ease of assembly and quality of hardware. Would definitely recommend these bunks!

Almost perfect.

We're super happy with it. There was a little damage to the wood so packaging could be a little better, and the center mattress support flexes under heavier loads (latex mattress), those would be two things I would like to see improved, but neither are a reason for me to make a different decision on buying something else.

It isn't as sturdy as you might think

Absolutely love how the bed looked in photos and even in person. After assembly though, we quickly discovered that the bunk bed is very wabbly. If my kid sleeping on the top bunk moves at all during the night, he shakes the bottom bunk a lot. He's 7 and a thin build and it absolutely disturbs my younger kid on the bottom bunk while he's sleeping. That would be my only gripe with this bed.

Good bed

Bed seems sturdy and was straight forward to assemble. We did have to request a replacement on one of the pieces, but had it within about a week. The kids love it and the space between the bottom and top bunk is great!
