It makes my hair soft and curly but after a few hours the curls start to dry up and loose it’s shape and become frizzy. I don’t know what to do to keep the curls lasting all day.

My hair has a lot a varying textures from 2c - 3b, is and about 40% gray. The non-gray is corse and very low porosity and the gray is wildly corse and slight higher porosity and it’s been a CHALLENGE to find out what my hair needs and then products the meet the varying needs - enter Pattern! I read thru the entire Curl Edu section, all the blogs, took the quizzes ( thank you for education, Pattern 🙌) and in the end selected the clarifying shampoo ( which is somehow cleansing and ACTUALLY moisturizing), the lightweight conditioner, the leave in conditioner and the curl cream. And when I tell you my hair has NEVER in my 44 years has my hair been this moisturized, juicy, full, bouncy, healthy or happy! I’m SOLD, a customer for life. Truly the Holy Grail. Also - the scent is delightful and I love that last for days. I even love the color/ design of the packing. Shipping was pretty fast as well. Zero complaints, beyond thrilled, so grateful for Pattern!

Its Ok, But Not Enough For My 4C Hair Alone

I have true 4C hair—very thick, tight coils with low porosity—and I wanted to love this leave-in, but it didn’t fully deliver for my hair. When I applied it, it gave good slip and my hair felt soft at first, but once it dried, the product just kind of sat there. My hair had that product-y feeling, and even though it wasn’t hard or crunchy, it didn’t feel like the moisture really got in there. It left a slight coating that made my hair feel “okay” but not hydrated. And worst part—it looked dry. Like my twist-out felt soft, but it still had that dull, dry look. That’s something I deal with a lot because of my low porosity, but I expected more from this leave-in, especially for the price. Final thoughts: If your hair absorbs product easily or you’re closer to 4A or 4B, this might work great. But if you’re 4C like me—very coily, thick, and low porosity—this leave-in just doesn’t go deep enough. I’d say pair it with something heavier or test it before going all in.
