Fly By Jing Original Sichuan Chili Crisp is hot, spicy, tingly, crispy, and deliciously savory chili sauce that makes anything taste better. This crispy hot sauce has a medium spice level; intensely flavorful, umami rich with a little tingle. A chile crunch condiment that is ready to drizzle anywhere you would use hot sauce: over noodles, eggs, cucumber salad, or rice bowls, dip wings or dumplings right into, or marinate meat with. Developed by Chef Jing Gao in Sichuan, she drew on her experience as a trained chef to create a sauce like nothing else you've ever tasted. Our products don't taste like anything else, because they're not made like anything else! Every jar is small batch crafted in Sichuan with heirloom all-natural ingredients grown only in Sichuan, including heritage Erjingtiao chilis, Tribute peppers, and non-GMO, cold-pressed oils. A: I would say it’s more savory than it is spicy. Very mild. Milder than standard chili oils.

Smoky and fiery
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting to try Fly by Jing for quite some time. Finally I have! It’s a bit smoky with a building heat but not overpowering or too spicy. In other chili oils I don’t typically use the oil part as much as the chili crisp, but for this the jar seemed to be about half full of the chili crisp and the other half the oil. The oil itself seemed to have more of a flavor than other chili oils. I didn’t expect to see mushroom powder, seaweed powder, and ginger in the ingredients. I don’t really get notes of those flavors but maybe the mushroom powder adds an umami effect. I would be curious to try the sweet and spicy flavor next and wonder if any of the chili oils are more garlicky as who doesn’t love garlic.

Pairs well with so many dishes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the original flavor and found that it pairs really well with many of my Asian meals. It has fermented soybeans and various spices that sets it apart from the regular chili oils that just add heat. It packs a little heat, and the texture was more more chewy versus crispy, which is due to the fermented soybeans. There is a lot of oil, and you can choose to just flavor your dish with just the oil, or get a more savory mouth feel by scooping out more beans for additional flavor and texture. It is a litte expensive compared to other chili oils out there but then again, this isn’t the typical chili oil. This will be a regular purchase for me .

It’s spicy in its own unique way, when the chili blends with sichuan peppercorn, you will get this hot plus more, your tongue will tell you for sure. It’s love this chili which brings back my childhood memories. You can drop a spoonful into a noodle dish, mix it with steamed vegetables, or spreads layer of it on a toasted bread. It will make your day. Hats off to you -Fly by Jing, hope to see more of unique flavors!
