This is a beautiful shelf…once it’s put together. However, the predrilled holes on the stakes were so tiny, they were almost nonexistent, and some actually were. We had to get measuring tape out, measure even distance, and mark everything ourselves to make sure we drilled properly. We also used wood screws instead of the ones that came with it because the screws that came with it weren’t good and we had trouble getting them to go in all the way or not damage the wood. But after the headache of assembly: it’s beautiful and holds my plants well. I was able to get 13 plants on it. I do wish it had some wall mounting brackets because it doesn’t feel too sturdy, but we can add them soon ourselves, if we find our pets warrant that. I’m just glad I got it on a good sale…if I paid full price, I’d be much more upset about it all.

Make sure you have a level
The good: It looks great when we got finished. My wife loves it. The bad: took almost two hours to put together for something that should have taken 30 min. The ugly: screw holes don’t line up perfectly and you wind up with uneven shelving if you use them. What I recommend is looking through the directions to make sure you know how to put the shelves in order then throwing them away. Line up all the shelves then screw the top and bottom into the legs (making sure you have the middle side pieces inserted do so you don’t have to take the bottom off again) using a level to make sure the legs are plumb. After you do that go back and insert the middle shelves using a level (not included) to even out the shelves. Some predrilled holes will work and some won’t but if you do this you can probably be done in an hour. A good electric screw driver is a must for this. Don’t use a powerful drill or you will crack the wood. Yes I would still recommend this despite the problems but I did get it half priced so maybe not at full price.

Don't trust the AI photos.
If this wasn't such a pain to assemble, I would have returned it. Not even worth $20, let alone $80. Terrible quality. The holes were: 1) not drilled deep enough, so the wood started splitting on me, and 2) drilled crooked to the point where several of the pieces do not even line up (pictured). 3) There were also extra holes drilled in the completely incorrect location, as if they were made by mistake (pictured). I thought it was going to break with every turn of my screwdriver. The instructions did not indicate that the pieces are directional (not obvious from the many incorrectly drilled holes), so I accidentally assembed it upside down at first and had to re-assemble it, stripping several of the poorly made screw holes. If you purchase this, good luck.

not quite what i expected
i like the styling, the lightweightness. i should have looked more closely at the photo to see it\'s stained, but not clear coated (it\'s being used with plants/water- seems like an oversight on the manufacturers side). the \"instruction manual\" is only diagrams and there is ZERO \"important safety information\" as claimed. i have built many prefab pieces of furniture. it\'s not complicated, but kind of annoying. the pieces aren\'t marked as \"D\" etc., but are referred to in the diagram that way. the pieces that hold up the shelf levels are slightly different in length (sections on top and bottom) you need to be paying attention or you will put them on upside down which will mess up the spacing between shelves. it would have been helpful for it to be WRITTEN in directions for things to look out for. overall, it\'s fine, but i think i\'d keep looking next time. time will tell how sturdy it actually is and how well it holds up again water spills.

I liked it how close the slats are when compared to similar products. but the quality wasn't great. It was chipping from here and there. So I had to return it.

This plant stand is just want I wanted. It is a perfect height and depth, so once the plants are on it, you almost can\'t see the stand. It\'s like an accent to all the green of the plants. It was easy to assemble and is sturdy if you are sure to tighten every bolt. It\'s lightweight and easy to move, and seems to be treated with a water-resistant stain. I put my stand in front of a window, so the bottom shelves don\'t get much light, so I\'m using them for plant food storage, and African violets, lol. I had been using a bench before, and didn\'t realize how much space that took up until I replaced it with this shelf. I have no complaints and am pleased so far (after one month). I\'ll update again if anything goes awry.

Love this plant stand!
I ordered one of these stands several months ago to go in the breakfast nook in my kitchen. I loved it so much that I ordered two more to go under the windows in the dining room. The brown wooden slats of the stand are a beautiful, rustic background to the lush green of the plants and the occasional planter that pulls the eye over to the display. One can never have too many plants, and I love the way my green babies look on these stands.
