Nearly 2 decades of brand satisfaction
I've used the Mahatma brand for probably 18 years. I admit, you have to learn what rice to water ratio works for you. Always, always use a rice cooker, so that you don't scorch your rice.
Protips:
*Wash your hands thoroughly, then rinse your rice with warm water by filling up your rice cooker with rice and enough water to create a decent puddle over your rice. Agitate the rice by squishing and raking through it.
*Pour out the milky water, and repeat about 5 times, or until the water is clear enough. It doesn't have to be crystal clear, but you'll stop seeing progress. Congrats! You've washed out the starch.
*From here, try to find the best water/rice ratio. For 3.5 cups, you probably want about 1/4 inch of standing water over it. Opt for less, because adding water as it cooks is easy. Too much water? Just make rice porridge, lol.
If you're looking for something more low carb, opt for this brand's basmati rice. If you want this rice a tad sticky, add a *little* more water than you normally do, once you've figured out the standard for your rice cooker. Stickier rice makes it chopstick friendly. If you prefer the rice a bit dry, stick to standard, then let the "keep warm" setting dry it out for another 20 minutes.

One of my favorite rice
I love this rice. I've been usin it for 5+ years. I used this rice alone or in yellow rice and rice dishes. I usually put a bit less water than the instructions. A pinch of salt and a little bit of olive oil or butter in the water. I want to try the brown rice next.

I followed the instructions on the bag and it turned out mushy, sticky, smelled horrible and tasted even worse, sort of tasted like wet plaster smells. I have to say it was the worse rice I've ever prepared. couldn't eat it. ruined my whole meal.
