Q: Can the seat come off completly? Can it be washed?

A: Yes, it can come off completely. Adding it with Velcro is the last step in building the chairs. But I am not sure it would be machine washable.

Q: Can the seat cushion be removed completely?

A: I got these when they first released and own them. Yes the seat cushion can be removed completely. But the back rest fabric can not be removed.

This chair is beautiful, well-made, and easy to assemble, but it’s not comfortable for your back. It forces you to sit upright, so you can only sit in it for a few minutes before your back starts to hurt. I’m very sad because they are beautiful.

Extremely strong VOC off gassing! When opening the box, the room filled with chemical smell and I had to open a window. If you put your nose up to a cushion, it is almost overpowering. I had to move these to the garage to air out, and I’m afraid they’ll continue to emit VOCs even after a few days. They look pretty nice, though the seat depth feels deeper than normal.

I was really hoping maybe the straight back of this chair would not be as uncomfortable as it looks, but it sure is. The chairs arrived flat packed and have to be put together, which was straightforward and easy. The chair cushion detaches for easy cleaning, and they are very nice quality for the price. That said, I am sending them back unfortunately because no one could sit in these for a full meal without a backache.
