Lawry's Spices & Seasonings Chili - Case of 12 - 1.48oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up a sample packet of Lawry's Chili Spices & Seasonings Mix on a whim and honestly ended up being pretty impressed with it. The first thing that stood out was how bold the flavor was without being overwhelmingly spicy. It has a really balanced mix of chili pepper, garlic, onion, and cumin that gives chili a slow-cooked taste even if you're making dinner in a hurry. Some seasoning packets can taste overly salty or artificial, but this one actually tastes well-rounded and hearty. What I liked most was how versatile it turned out to be. Of course, it works great in a traditional ground beef chili, but I also tried it in a pot of black beans and smoked sausage and it added a ton of flavor without needing much extra seasoning. I even sprinkled a little into taco meat and mixed some into queso dip during a football game, and both turned out great. It would probably work well for stuffed peppers, chili dogs, or even as a dry rub for burgers. Another plus is that it's easy to customize. If you like a thicker chili, more heat, or extra vegetables, the seasoning still holds up and doesn't get lost. It gives a solid base flavor that tastes homemade instead of boxed. Overall, this is one of the better chili seasoning mixes I've tried lately. Convenient, flavorful, and useful for way more than just chili night.
