Q: Are these bowls biodegradeable and safe for landfill?

A: Great question Bonnie! No, we do not make biodegradable claims for Dixie bowls. Dixie bowls are certified compostable, which means they will break down in a safe and timely manner in a backyard/home compost pile or in a commercial composting operation. Hope this helps!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use them often! Pretty sturdy for most items! We use these for quick items (snacks, quick meals). Have had no issues! You can definitely feel the heat through them if you're putting something directly off the stove, so be aware of that. Otherwise, we use them for many things. Works well with most liquids (again, be aware if it's hot.. you can feel it). These are pretty good sized, so great for a full bowl of soup or rice or whatever meal you might be making. Microwaves well (heat thing again.. careful!)

I’ve been buying Dixie for years and I noticed a lot now that they’re really getting cheap. I put lasagna on one of the plates and it looked like it was gonna collapse. You guys are making them really cheap now and it does stop.

I love using Dixie bowls. Whether it’s putting small pieces in the bowl to move from one place to the other. Or putting it under my grandkid’s popsicles so I don’t get drips also perfect for popcorn and chips when we’re watching movies.

I had previously purchased the plates in the same design, and I love that I have a matching set now for summer fun! We used the bowls a week or two ago for an easy clean-up cookie decorating day. They are not only a great size for cereal, fruit, and other snacks, but they are also perfect for sprinkles. The bowl shape keeps the sprinkles in much better than a plate, and it also gives enough room to dip the entire cooking into the sprinkles. With so many uses for these bowls, I’ll definitely buy them again!
