A: We do not recommend using the mat on top of a lighter color rug. While this isn’t something we test for, so we can’t say with 100% confidence that it would or would not bleed onto the lighter color rug.

The smell doesn't go away
The smell is awful. I've had it for 2 months, tried airing it out...still stinks. I had it in front of my door, and I could smell it while sitting on my couch. My cat was lying on it for a few minutes and his fur then smelled like it. Not worth the scent. I moved it outside.

Unfortunately, machine made mats- especially those with recycled rubber- can have a distinct smell from the manufacturing process. That smell can then be exacerbated by the packaging for storing and shipping. Any smell from the manufacturing process and packaging should generally dissipate over a few days of being out of the packaging. Great Doormat, but Strong Smell Initially
Bought this to use inside at our back door. It flattened out quickly, has been pretty easy to clean with a handheld vacuum, and stays in place (it’s on tile). It had a really strong and terrible smell for the first couple of days though, which is why I took off a star.

Smells like chemicals
Seems like a quality mat, but I had to return it because of the strong smell. It smelled like chemicals and I didn’t feel comfortable having it in my house. Airing it out for a week did not help. It still made the entire floor of my house smell.
