10"x13" Nonslip Acacia Wood Cutting Board Natural - Figmint™

Contains o-xylene, not on the label. I bought this cutting board and have been using it for months and the finish on certain areas seems...off... So I googled Figmin cutting boards and found out they all contain o-xylene, a very toxic substance used for finishing woods that absolutely SHOULD NOT BE USED AROUND ANYTHING FOR FOOD. "Figmin is open about the use of this additive." No, it's not. It's under a warning tab on the Target app that you have to be looking for. I'm not looking for that when I'm shopping in store. Don't buy if you don't want toxic garbage leaching into your food

This is a beautiful board, but gets marred by knife marks very quickly. I have only used it for cutting fruit / veggies / bread (no meat, cheese, fish etc) and only hand washed - but after just a couple months of use it has developed not only lots of marks and fading, but a strange & unpleasant odor despite cleaning / drying promptly when needed. I’ve tried rubbing with salt / lemon but no luck. Worst of all the smell transfers over to the countertop when placed there. Will sadly have to throw it out.

After one use, this board is covered in knife marks. I appreciated the size and the grips on the bottom, but I would have preferred a board that doesn’t look so bad after using.

I only used it like 10 times and it’s already splinting and cracked. Do not buy

It's not too heavy & looks nice.

Don’t buy. Splinters and flakes quickly. If it doesn’t split apart completely in the first year, it will in the second.

Really lovely looking cutting board, good size, the slanted edges are nice. Unfortunately, after cutting on it a couple times, it looks terrible. And after a few handwashings, the edges already look aged and drying/cracking It's not resiliant as other boards I have. Shame. Will return

Why, WHY would a company make a "safe" food product then ADD a TOXIC chemical to it???? (btw, I only "fault" Target for selling it -- it's the company/manufacturer who is really to blame.) I bought this after researching the best, safest cutting boards. Guess I needed to do more research! When I started using it, I noticed a weird smell. THAT should have been a red flag! I just figured it was treated with something, and ignored the smell. Well, thank goodness I looked at the description of this item closer (as I was looking up how to treat wood cutting boards), only to find it has a toxic chemical added to it: o-xylene!!! (found in the Specifications) Again, WHYYYYY would the company put this in a CUTTING board??? Better off sticking to my plastic ones. (BTW, it's in ALL their products.) Even though i only used for 3 weeks, that's 3 weeks too long. Although I wanted to return it, we just trashed it, as it had been used and cut up. I then did more research and thankfull came up Andironack cutting boards. 8x more $ BUT I'll pay that vs. using a TOXIC chemical. ???? $16 to compromise my health (and now, probably thousands of dollars for treatment) Thanks a lot Figmint.

I’ve only used it a few times and hand washed and it’s starting to splinter bad. Have to throw it away.

I have had this cutting board for two days and it’s totally trashed from normal use. I just looked carefully at the product description and notice it’s not food safe (contains o-xylene). Terrible product.

I'm using this board to cover an open top box on my counter full of supplements. I ordered this slightly larger than the box it covers and it fits perfectly. I'm not using this as a cutting board and I would recommend it as one. My husband used it one time as a cutting board and it's permanently scratched.

This cutting board has a ridiculous amount of scratches/cuts after one use & hand washing. I expected it to last longer than one use - would not recommend.

Bought this because I’m trying to get rid of plastic since it’s toxic only to read in tiny print it contains o-xylene. A non food safe finish

Beautiful board but it started splintering after the first wash.

Not a good quality board. For the price good to get going but after a few uses very rough, looses color, and shows all knife marks.

Wouldn’t buy again. This board looks terrible after use and washing.

I bought this cutting board less than two months ago. It immediately started chipping/fading after the first use. I have used it weekly since, carefully handwashing it immediately after each use. It looks awful at this point and super worn out. Hopefully it’s safe to still use. Anyways I should have listened to the negative reviews. I doubt any of the positive reviewers actually used the cutting board before reviewing.

This is a beautifully made cutting board. The board is made of real acacia wood that is FSC Certified - meaning it promotes environmentally, socially, and economically responsible management of the world's forests. The board does contain o-Xylene. I really like the size and durability of this board. It is a solid wood board without seams and is not heavy. It is easy to wash because of the size and lightweight. There are 4 rubber feet to keep the board from slipping. I love natural wood grain and color. It is a nice ash brown with less red tones than the photos. It also looks great as a charcutlerie board.

The Acacia wood cutting board is a quality product with durability and strength. It is very easy to use and stays put while it sits on the counter when I chop my fruits and vegetables. It easily transfers from the board to my container with such ease.
