Step 2: Pull the bulb and plastic base straight out of bulb holder. Step 3: Replace lamp with only 12 Volt, 0.96 Watt, Super Bright type spare lamps (provided with product). Only decorated on one side, you can’t tell until you take it out of the box. It’s also made very cheap. The star broke off the stand just trying to take it out of the box with scissors. Never even made it on the tree. Returning.

This is fine. I got it when it was on sale on Black Friday. I needed it for a Christmas tree I put on my porch. It’s plastic. I didn’t expect much from the backside does not look like the front. It’s a solid like yellow E creamy gold color if I bought this to use in my house I probably would’ve returned it But for the purposes I need it for at nine dollars. It was perfect.

Seriously Target???
Like others, I had the previous version for years but it finally burned out. This is a joke, the back is flat grey plastic, taking it right back. Target needs to stop cutting corners if they want to stay in business.

Only half a star
The star is only one sided so when you put it at the top of your tree, the reverse side is gray plastic. So if your tree is not pushed up against the wall, don’t pick this. I bought this to replace the Starr that had burned out which was exactly the same star but three years ago they used to sell it with the star on both sides

So cheap now, old version better
We got this a few years ago and it was so great, broke this year so ordered new ones excited they still made them but oh man how cheap they've become - the back is flat brown plastic, the front faux mercury has become so much cheaper and ugly, the sides have open slats and you can see the parts inside - I'd give it zero stars now if I could. Why does Target keep cheapening their stuff?? It was great the way it was, absolutely terrible now. Don't buy.

Cheap. Downgrade from previous years design.
Buckle up, this is a doozy spanning an entire year. I purchased this very same tree star last year, November 2024 specifically. It’s beautiful but junk. It didn’t even last a month before it burnt out. I changed the fuse but it still didn’t work and on Christmas morning I had a tree with an unlit star. How disappointing. I threw it away and made a note to purchase a new one next fall. So fast forward to October 2025, I find the same item from my previous orders and am pleased to find it available for purchase. Although I was disappointed that the previous one didn’t last long I was hoping the new one had some upgrades and was better. So last night I remove the star from the packaging to put it on the tree and to my absolute horror, it is not identical to the one I purchased last year but the back is flat and a completely different color. So not only is it ugly, but if I keep it I run the risk of it not even lasting until Christmas. Not sure that’s a gamble I’m willing to take. The design is bad, an absolute downgrade from years previous. The durability is questionable. I can’t speak to the 2025 version of this star, but the one I purchased last year didn’t last four weeks of intermittent use. This one I purchased this year feels cheap. I do appreciate the longer cord on it, but overall this is a letdown.
