Q: How long (how many days) does this candle generally burn?
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Our Tall Unscented candles usually have a burn time between 4.5 - 5.5 days. The variance depends on the conditions of the room and whether there is any air circulation where the candle is placed that can contribute to a shorter burn time. This time is based on lighting the candle once and allowing it to burn until extinguished.
submitted byCandle Expert - 5 years agoBrand expertA: The candle has a burn time of a couple of hours, sometimes less, after which time it will snuff itself out. The wicks burn too fast. Unless you periodically pour the molten wax out, the wax overwhelms the wick. If it then cools, one cannot relight it unless some of the wax is melted out first.

Q: Is the wax on these candles (off-white) similar to the ones found in dollar stores? Are these made with the cheap paraffin wax?
A: I am not sure of the wax but they do last 4-6 days. The flame is very dim and small though compared to the dollar store ones. They almost look like it will go out at any time.
submitted byNiko6266 - 4 years agoA: They're very similar to the dollar store ones, but last twice as long and are of a better quality (wicks are centered, only 1 wick per candle)

Q: Does this last for 7 days?
A: I have had these last 7 days (occasionally 10 days) usually they burn 5-7 days.
submitted byTami - 4 years agoA: No. There are few 7 Day Candles in the marketplace. If one finds one the retail cost is significantly higher than the current price of the candle in question. The majority of retail candles are now in a glass jar that is 8" tall. Burn times will differ on the wax blend and wick selection.

Q: Are the candles removable from jar?
A: No, these candles are poured into the jars as liquid wax and form a solid unit when cooled.
submitted byCandle Expert - 5 years agoBrand expertA: Although you cannot remove the candle, once you've burned it down, you can put a new candle inside the glass cylinder.

Q: Is there a sticker label adhered to the candle and, if so, where?
A: The sticker is on the bottom of the glass jar.
submitted byCandle Expert - 5 years agoBrand expertA: My experience of these is that there is a paper label ON THE SIDE, not easy to remove. It's a warning label, about 1" x 1-1/2".

Q: Why sell such bad candles? The wicks burn too fast. The wax will snuff out the candle. The only way to prevent this is to periodically pour off some of the molten wax. What a waste! Much of the candle gets thrown away.
A: Continental Sanctuary Series candles are created as prayer candles to provide the longest continual burn possible. Generally, these candles are intended to be lit once and burn until they expire. The wicks are not created for lighting and relighting like general market candles. Relighting can be done, but you will have to adjust the wax level when doing so. Also, it is very important that when burning a Sanctuary Series candle it is not under a vent or fan. This will increase oxygen and cause the wick to burn too fast. All Continental candles are made of domestic paraffin and 100% cotton wicks. We hope this information is helpful in your enjoyment of our candles.

Q: Why are the wicks so bad -- they burn too fast, such that one must keep pouring wax out to keep it burning?
A: Our wicks are selected to give a smaller, longer burning flame. If you are getting an uneven burn please make sure that you are not putting the candle under an air vent, fan, or in a draft. This will add more oxygen to the flame and cause the wick to burn faster than wick can draw the wax. Our candles are primarily created as prayer candles that are meant to be lit and allowed to burn until they expire. If you light the candles, extinguish them, and relight them, you will have to remove some of the wax in between burns. Please try these things and let us know if you continue to have a problem. Thank you!

Q: Do the White candle jars have designs on them? I am looking for a plain white candle without the religious designs on them?
A: There are no designs on the candle. Just plain clear glass.
