Q: If I were to put this unit horizontally and add a cushion on top, would it be sturdy enough for my 5 year old to sit on and read?
A: No! Would not advise!
submitted byRedLocks - 8 years agoA: Hi Love2shop - It isn't recommended to use this organizer as a seat since the maximum weight capacity is just 20 pounds. Have a great day! - Philip
submitted byPhilip - 8 years agoTarget staff supportA: The total weight bearing capacity is 50 pounds so if the child is this light it can support her. However it is 2 feet high. She CANNOT use the shelves to climb up. They will not support her weight.
submitted byHalfpint - 4 years agoA: Not at all! It will bend and brake becareful!
submitted byNessabee760 - 8 years agoA: No, because the child would fall through it and break something.

Q: Hi! Is it possible to un-assemble then re-assemble this unit in order to move it from one apartment to another?
A: Hello jcon - Thanks for your interest in this organizer! Adult assembly is required and tools are not provided. We hope this helps with your decision! - Dee
submitted byDee - 5 years agoTarget staff supportA: Yes, you can take it apart to some extent. But the back panels are nailed on, so it would be a challenge to remove without damage.
submitted byLibraryanna - 4 years agoA: Can I put a tv on top of it

Q: It would seem to me that you could stack them horizontally and not vertically?
A: I am hoping to stack vertically, because the height of 2 stacked together will be perfect for a closet. I am hoping it can be screwed together as well as to the closet wall.
submitted bygemini5_74 - 3 years agoA: I agree with the questioner. If you stack two vertically, it would be over 72 inches high! If you stack them horizontally, it would be 48 inches high, which is much more realistic. Also the unit itself weighs 30 lbs. - barely under the 35 lb. weight the top shelf can support vertically, but under the 50 lb. weight the top shelf of the lower unit could support. However you would be limited to just 20 more lbs. in the upper unit, so it might not be that practical

Q: What is it made of? Sturdy enough for office supplies?
A: Product page says the shelving material is particle board and the surface is paper laminate. I don't know how sturdy these materials are in terms of office supplies.
submitted byKatyshopper - 5 years agoA: Hi Maggie - Great question! This 6-cube organizer is the perfect solution for staying organized! This organizer is made from a wood laminate. Thanks for stopping by to take a look. - Julie
submitted byJulie - 6 years agoTarget staff supportA: I think you could use it to store many office supplies, but not reams of paper. Since according to the product information: "Weight capacity is 15lbs per cube shelf," you would be very limited to three reams in each cubby and since most paper is 11" wide or more, it would be a tight squeeze to get paper to fit into a cubby, but you could stack a seven reams on top if used vertically and ten if used horizontally (assuming letter size paper).

Q: Can this be hung on the wall?
A: I don't think so... it certainly doesn't come with the hardware to do so.
submitted byElla - 7 years agoA: Hi Kat - Thanks for checking. This organizing unit is not intended to be hung on a wall. It's intended to sit on an even surface. Have a great day! - Nathalie
submitted byNathalie - 7 years agoTarget staff supportA: I just bought this, and the directions explicitly state it MUST be attached on the wall. I have to return it, because I do not want to fasten to the wall.

Q: Can you make this without putting any backs on so it's all open & you can see the wall behind it?
A: It's been a while since I assembled it. But I believe you can just leave the cardboard panels off the back!
submitted byMadifu - 7 years agoA: The panels are part of the support structure and keeps the shelves square. They say you need to put them on
submitted byLibraryanna - 4 years agoA: @Angela yes you can. The back panels come in handy if you want to stock the cube or place many items in it.

Q: Is the weight capacity 20 pounds per cube or 20 pounds for the entire 6 cubes?
A: Hi M - Thanks for asking. The maximum weight capacity is 20 pounds total. Hope that helps! - Nathalie
submitted byNathalie - 8 years agoTarget staff supportA: According to the product information: "Weight capacity is 15lbs per cube shelf."
submitted bySA Shirl - 6 years agoA: Copied from the Target website for this item: Highlights (I just copied the "Highlights to this question) Weight capacity is 15lb s per cube shelf. When used vertically, top shelf weight capacity is 35lbs When used horizontally, top shelf weight capacity is 50lbs

Q: can you stack two of these on top of eachother?
A: They are not made to be stacked, but you could if you secured them to a wall. If not secured to a wall, they would be in danger of tipping.
submitted byms_ashley2 - 8 years agoA: I would think as long as the units are screwed together and anchored to the wall, it shouldnt be a problem. I am going to do this with 2 units vertically for a walk in closet. Ikea has a similar unit to do just that, but not in stock, hence me buying it elsewhere.
submitted bygemini5_74 - 3 years agoA: Hi Kayla- Thanks for your question. We don't recommend stacking two shelving units together, for safety reasons. They can be used vertically or horizontally to give them some additional versatility. We hope this helps! - Amber
