While not ideal for most tracing situations, uncoated paper can be used for tracing in certain circumstances, particularly if you are using a lightbox and need a slightly thicker paper than traditional tracing paper; however, the best option for tracing is typically dedicated tracing paper which is designed to be translucent and allow you to easily see through it to the image you want to trace.
