A: I will answer my own question! I ordered these dishes and utensils definitely scratched the one plate I tried.....so they were promptly returned.

These are beautiful dishes. All have a nice ring to them & I haven’t found an imperfection. The texture gives a nice contrast to the cream and looks great on my table. The cereal bowls are a nice shape and size and will work nicely for more eating cereal.

I ordered four sets of these dishes. All arrived packaged very well in cardboard boxes and padding. Not one piece was broken. These dishes are absolutely beautiful, so much so that even my children remarked about how nice they are! They are sturdy without being too heavy. I was looking for neutral toned dishes but wasn't quite satisfied with just plain white (see pic for comparison to a white dishcloth). These dishes are perfect with their simple elegance. Buy them! You won't regret it.
