Q: Will this shade be able to be raised higher so that the window is not mostly blocked during the day when we do want the light coming in?

A: You can mount it higher so that when it's fully retracted most of the window is not blocked.

Q: Are the backs of the shades lined, so not to see the shade hardware? I'd like to use this on an entry door

A: the only hardware is at the very top piece where the shade rolls up. We have it on a french door and inside you just see the fabric shade, from the outside you see the shade liner. It looks attractive

glorified roller shade
This is really a roller shade with fabric clipped to it. Unfortunately the shade would not roll up once it was pulled down. The description should really show what the actual mechanism is and call it a roller shade. The fabric is pretty flimsy. I was planning on adding my own fabric to it but because of the terrible mechanism I am returning this and would not recommend.

Minimalist scandinavian style window cover
We love these because they allow light in but liner helps maintain privacy. Although they are slightly too long for our windows they still look fantastic. Great alternative to IKEA roman shades which have a less quality look and feel.

This shade was super easy to install and looks great. It’s sheer enough to let good light into our small bathroom, but not so sheer that privacy is a concern. I bought this in white and in the linen color for two bathrooms. 10/10 recommend!

These shades are great
I wanted to write a review because these shades have a separate white liner that don't appear in the photographs, so they provide plenty of light, but are completely private, even at night. This makes them a very good price, especially with the linen texture appearance. We installed these on outside mount on our french doors and inside mount on other windows. Easy to install, have had them a few weeks, no problems so far.

Too plain and boring.
The material of the linen is too thick and white. By the picture I thought it would have little self print which I clearly misinterpreted. The plain white is looking oldish and outdated. The length and installation is great
