You can file a claim online anytime. Just follow the steps below. File a Claim Online 1. Go to www.squaretrade.com 2. Click File a Claim at the top of the page. 3. If you already have an online account, just log in. To create a new account, enter the email address you used when you purchased your protection plan, click Set Up, and follow the instructions. 4. Click File/View Claim next to the item you’re having trouble with. 5. Follow the steps to file your claim in minutes. For the fastest claims experience, be sure to collect all the information you will need before starting to file a claim (to see what you will need, click here). We will also need you to submit the item purchase receipt as it will need to be verified before your claim can be processed. To submit your receipt, please use our website upload tool. Worth it
The customer support on a holiday weekend was the best. Helpful and patient. The authorized repair shop was very courteous and got our device repaired in the time they promised.

Overall I think squaretrade does a pretty good job with their repairs. I think the deductible is still very expensive considering the monthly payments. I think overall it would be cheaper to just pay to have your phone fixed in the event that it breaks. Iphone 8 plus cracked screen at a phone repair is $170. Deductible is $96. If I pay $8 per month for a year for square trade thats $96, so together that makes it $192 to fix my phone if I break it once per year. Anyway.. just something to think about depending on what phone you have. If you break your phone more than once a year then it becomes worth it to pay for insurance. Or if you have a more expensive phone.

I had a minor problem with turning on phone, after paying over $300. (@$8 a month)for warranty, it was going to cost another $130 to have it fixed, hmmmm! Will live with issue and cancelled sq trade.

For what you pay, it is good. My phone screen repair was $229 and with my deductible being $129, I will get reimbursed $100 so that is nice. The claims are easy to file. Just don't put a PO Box address, you have to use a physical address
