These little bats are so cute! This kit was a perfect way to feel creative without needing to buy tons of supplies. It comes with everything you need to make two bats. The paper rope does come in one long piece, so I found the mid point and cut it in half because you will be wrapping the length of rope A LOT. The instructions are short, but easy to understand. I made one bat myself but will be leaving the other bat for my 9 year old to make!

This is cute and not too complicated to do. I am super slow doing it and figuring out the weaving instructions, so I still haven't finished it yet. My six year old has been able to help on some of the steps. They will be a nice addition to our Halloween decor this year.
Cute but difficult to do

This is really cute Halloween decorations but I definitely think this is geared toward an adult craft than it is for kids. My almost 9 year old wanted to do this so I let her and she found it pretty difficult so I had to step in. I agree it's kind of tricky to do. The instructions arent very clear that you have to wrap it around a certain way so the rope doesn't slide off the wire bat. Also, you have to pull the whole pack of rope through the wire which takes forever. I really wish they would've cut multiple sections of rope for each bat. We got one completed but not sure we will have enough rope for the other one. Also wish the battery operated string lights had a timer on them so you didn't have to keep going and turning them on manually. Especially if they're hanging on the wall.
Only enough product for one bat. Ultimately disappointing

I thought this was a cute idea, but it didn't turn out as nice as the bats on the box. First of all, there was not enough string to complete both bats. So I only have one completed bat. As far as I can tell the lights aren't on a timer and so you have to manually turn them on and off. When I ordered it I didn't realize it was going to be a DIY project. It wasn't hard but I would have preferred to have just bought the bat already done The lights don't add that much, but it may have been that I just wrapped my bat too tightly with the rope which would explain why I didn't have enough for the second bat. The instructions weren't very clear. Ultimately, the one that I have is cute but not a project I really loved doing and ultimately just a disappointing project. Also not for young children suited more towards teens and adults.
Not as easy as it looks

I wasn't sure what to expected when I got this bat rope Halloween decoration craft. I thought it might be fun to do with my 5 year old son, since he loves helping us decorate for the different holidays. The directs are very simple and pretty easy to understand and follow. Wrapping the bats with the rope wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. It took me a couple of tries to find a method that would work. The instructions do have pictures to show how the rope can be wrapped about the bat, but is was just an overview, not very detailed. The rope is long and meant for both bats. I think the craft and wrapping step would be a lot easier if the rope was cut first into two separate pieces. I didn't see an age recommendation on the packaging, so I don't think it's meant for kids to do, at least not alone.
