1st - current price of $129.99 is $19.50 higher than my purchase 1 1/2 weeks ago! Then, initially, cabinet looked as good as online picture. However, it's poorly constructed. The 1st 2 screws I put in tore through the particle board, which chipped off - I didn't even get the 1st shelf on! I'm a 67 year old senior recovering from back surgery 4 days ago - just how strong can you imagine I might be? Not very! I returned the cabinet & canvas shelving units. Fortunately, customer service rep was persistent in obtaining my refund when computer couldn't find my order.

Fast to assemble.. color was more brown than I thought it would be. The back panels don't completely cover, there's a small gap but not super noticeable.
Great quality and easy to assemble

I love this cabinet. Very good quality wood and very easy to assemble. Sturdy and solid. Looks great! Thinking of getting another one for my hallway for winter hats, gloves and all!

I bought it to be a bookshelf in my office. Very easy to assemble. It is very light weight and probably won't be used for heavy books / supplies.

Fairly easy to put together by one's self. A little wobbly, but sturdy enough to hold miscellaneous items in the baskets and top shelf. The back panels were a pain, as they're supposed to sit in grooves and they came slightly bowed. In hindsight, I should have just left them out. But since I have mine situated against a wall, it's no big deal. Very decent unit, I only wish it were a bit deeper.
Very nice storage shelves

We were looking for something to hold my daughters coloring books and craft supplies but wanted the piece of furniture to match our living room and this was it! Relatively easy to put together too.
Unless you have someone to help you put this together or four hands, don't purchase.

Once I got the shelf together, despite the fact that it was still quite wobbly, it did look presentable. However, it was a nightmare to put together -- very flimsy material especially the plastic back. The hardware did not hold it firmly together. I ended up gluing it together, and as I said above, it is still quite wobbly. Would not purchase again.

The great thing about this shelf is that it comes with bins that blend into the shelf. My daughter loved that all her daughter's toys could be stored in her family room without being so noticeable
Overall, meets our needs

We purchased two of these units to help store my daughter's toys in our family room. It will get the job done. The finish is ok and some pieces appeared to be dusty, almost looked a little worn despite just coming out of the box. So some dusting and cleaning required. Easy to put together and looks pretty good when complete. Simple and clean. The biggest negative was the strong odor that emanated from the box upon opening it. The outgassing from the finish was quite strong and we decided to place the product outside to let it air out after we put it together. I don't know if Target checks reviews, but they should discuss this issue with their supplier. We opened the box to the second unit outside and decided to air out before we even touch it and put it together.

took about fifteen minutes to assemble- everything fit. looks good. Took another fifteen minutes to clean all of the shredded styrofoam that stuck to every piece and my floors. The exposed top section has large scratches below the finish- not first quality woodwork, but with a printer on top of it and baskets to hide the rest it works for what I need.
Looks cheap and feels cheap

I've purchased this mainly to store loose items in my office. It's fine for my purpose but don't expect this to be a nice furniture piece. It looks cheap the moment I opened the box. It has a painted on brown finish than simulate actual wood. Also, it has a strange chemical smell. I'm giving it two stars because it functions fine and assembly was very easy. The structure is weak and wobbly after assembled it. To strength it up I had purchase some small corner bracket for support. After I did that, it felt a better.

The color is described as walnut and it looks cherry in the photo. What I received was redder than expected. Because I got the item at a discount and it's going in the kid's room, I'll keep it. If it were someplace more visible, I would hesitate to keep it. On the plus side, it was easy to assemble--relatively few parts. One issue I had was with the back panel which did not fit well because one of the shelves stuck out more than designed. I had to force the back panel so it is not a perfect fit but one can't really tell because it's in the back.
Glad I bought them on sale.

They look decent for what they are. I ordered 2 which were delivered to my house. One came with a scratch on the top. I am not shipping it back and so will have to live with it. This a "screw-lock-cam" assembler. I took the advice of another reviewer to use glue in the pin holes that screw in. I also broke one of the cams. Fortunately, each package comes with and extra piece of each hardware and so was able to complete the assembly. One of the pre-drilled cam holes was too close to the surface and when I tightened the pin, it pushed up and warped the shelf, making a bulge. The back panel are also tricky in the final assembly, but they come with two rigid plastic vertical strips that help keep them straight and sturdy. There are also small, self-tapping screw to secure the back panel to the shelves. The clothes boxes are by far the best constructed of the package. The handles are smaller than they appear, but work just fine and can support a fairly heavy load. I have bought better flat-pack kits. This package is serviceable, but I'm glad I got them on sale.
The color was not walnut, it's more cherry, definitely red!

I first was very disappointed in the wrong color description but thought I could live with it. Putting this shelf together was terrible, the cam locks broke so easily, the most of them falling apart by barley tightening them. I have recently had surgery and not that strong, it seriously fell apart very easily! I did email for replacement parts and they sent them very quickly but the quality seems so poor I decided to return it. Target is great with returns!

I have had this for six months only and it is already in terrible shape. The fake wood is all cracked and it is falling apart. I bought it to store my kids toys in and liked that it looked nice. For spending over $100 I would expect something that would last more than 6 months.
Great shelf!

Purchased this shelf for hats and mittens for my grandchildren. I should have known something was amiss when I saw the packaging, all retaped and bulged. Nevertheless I opened it and started to assemble when I noticed the top of the shelf actually had dust and dirt marks where you could tell another shelf must have been sitting on top. Not only that but there was a nick out of the corner. Well I had everything out and decided it was more work to try and repackage and return it then to try and salvage the shelf as is. I put it together. Next I noticed there were no containers to go on the shelves so I figured they were coming in another box. I waited three days but no baskets so I went to Target and bought six additional baskets. Delivered the shelf the next day and when I returned home on my doorstep one full week later, were the containers for the shelf. Now I had to drive back to my son's house and retrieve the extra purchased baskets, deliver the new and return the others to Target. Not a good experience!
