A: Hi - yes, the base does need be have the pole attached to it, but it is a very simple assembly that does not take long to do at all. Thank you for the question.

Great and speedy service. Really like the lamp and I have put together these lamps before. No problems. The middle piece however was not cooperating. Tried numerous times to attach it but it ended up crooked. Not screwing in properly. Too bad! I kept it and put it in a place that you can't tell it's a bit off! Other than that it's a cute lamp that meets my needs.
