I bought the umbrella stand about a month ago and after a month of use the stand broke and completely shattered my table. Target in store took back the stand but wouldn’t reimburse for even a portion of the table. Horrible customer service experience and even worse product.

The quality seemed great. It is very heavy which is what you want in an umbrella stand and it was very pretty being made of solid black granite. However, it was too small an opening for my umbrella stand. It also was difficult to get back in the box to return due to its heavy weight.

holds up in the strongest wind
I bought a large umbrella that tilts and found that my old cast iron umbrella stand wasn't going to cut it.....it constantly blew over at the slightest wind. I took a chance on this model since it said it's good for tilting umbrellas. so far so good. It hasn't toppled over at all yet. It's super heavy, so I'm not able to move my umbrella placement as much as I used to....but I can handle that.

This thing is HEAVY. It’s easy to put together and has little notches where you can grab it to make moving easier (tried to show in a photo). It also has pads on the bottom so it doesn’t scratch your deck/concrete. Will it last for years and years? Probably not. But it’s doing a great job for now!

PLASTIC COATED GRANITE
The pictue included in the description looks like shiny black granite. Other reviewers have provided pictures. However, in reality, it looks and feels like the white granite base has a coating of black, patterned rubber or plastic. It feels somewhat like a car tire, but smoother. Also, the coating on the two bases that I got were not shiny. They definately did not look like shiny granite. Having said all that, the base is heavy (good); the parts all fit together with no problem (good); and no problems so far. It's actually a pretty decent umbrella base, but not what I thought I was getting. I would also recommend it to someone if they were aware of exactly what they were getting (and if the item was on sale). P.S. Target Customer Service was very helpful and we were able to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement on the purchase.

This base is very heavy and sturdy! The only negative is that the pic makes it look like nice speckled granite and the finish isn't that shiny as in the picture. overall though it's a nice base for the money!
