The fan is beautiful--it really changes the atmosphere in our great room--I love its modern design and simplicity. It is a vast improvement over the builder-grade fan that the previous owner installed. We primarily use the fan in the winter to keep the heat from our wood-pellet stove from rising up and out of our ceiling. It definitely does a better job of circulating air than our previous fan. This gorgeous fan does come with a big BUT--it only works with the remote which is unfortunate because we have three light switches in our dining room, living room, and entryway which are wired to turn on the fan light and the fan. Now I have three nonfunctional light switches. Argh--I am also worried about losing or damaging the remote--it comes with a holder which we screwed into the wall, but I can just see one of my adult children losing track of the remote. The fan direction can be switched when the seasons change, but we will have to manually switch it which will require a tall ladder as it is located near the fan motor. The fan is pretty quiet and the light is great--nice and bright or a dimmer ambient lighting. I just wish MinkaAire would allow us to integrate the fan controls into our existing switches--our electrician was surprised to learn that it only works with the remote. We had our contractor install it because the fan is large and mounted on a very high ceiling.

I bought the F848-dk, on this model you cannot reverse the fan from the remote. Annoying given the fan is installed 25’ up. So when you buy this fan check if you can reverse it

The fan looks incredible! Very easy to assemble and install. No shaking at high speed, adjustable LED light is a nice feature and it creates enough of a breeze to lower my thermostat. I bought the driftwood color which matched my wood tile perfectly. The only downside is that I'll need to replace the rest of my fans since this one looks so nice!

Unfortunely, there were no Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal on MinkaAire fans so it was a bit of a gamble on ordering 7 fans, same models, (4-65" and 3-52" blade models) etc. Very easy assemble and install, and absolutely the quietest ceil fans I've ever been around, to add to the amount of air flow being moved by these fans is Hugh. I'm very impressed and happy with my purchase.....even without any discounts on the two holiday shopping events
