I needed a piece of furniture that matched my mom’s end table’s in a small apartment that she could place various things on. Found this and it worked out perfectly! This is a solid, heavy piece of furniture like it was bought from a furniture store, reasonably priced but just a little difficult to put together since there are a lot of pieces. Once everything was figured out it looked great and fit everything. Overall very happy with the purchase and would recommend.

Worst piece of furniture ever
I have built dozens of furniture with MDF particle board. And this was by far the worst ever. It wobbled from the start of construction and I was figuring that the shelves would help solidify the bookshelf. Unfortunately I never got to that point as it fell apart trying to move it to its place against that wall.

Its okay, but the price isn't
I have two of these bookshelves. The first one I was gifted in May 2024, and it was purchased for around $170. I ended up buying myself a second one to match in January of 2025 for about $150. Out of curiosity, I was checking the price now, June 2025. It’s well over $200 now. I can say it’s a nice bookshelf, but not that nice. It’s not real wood. It’s a pain to put together. The cuts on the shelf fronts aren’t quite right so there are weird gaps (not very noticeable to others, but I look at it every day and it’s quite bothersome for the amount paid.) For $150, yeah I’d buy it. For anything more that $170, not worth it. For over $200, just go to IKEA and save yourself the hassle if your like me and want your furniture to have an exact match (and collect too many books). The price increase within a 6 month period is ridiculous, especially for the quality.

Dont buy this.
Cheap and broken- don’t do it! We were expecting a bookshelf with some durability., but received a heavy box full of flimsy material to build a shelf. Pieces were bent and chipped, but we already started to assemble it when we noticed it. I’m so disappointed. For $200 we expected better from Target.

5 shelf bookcase from Sauder
Not impressed. Assembly made more difficult because hardware is not identified. Some parts have no labels which make it hard to match with instructions. I knew this would be an inexpensive product but did not expect it to be so cheaply constructed. I bought this because I needed something quick. I would have been better off shopping facebook marketplace. I will not be purchasing any unassembled items from Target in the future.

Frustrated with the instructions and I have put together more items than I can count Discover they were backwards to put sides on! Cam holes not big enough and they needed to send extra hardware. It's adequate for what I need but it doesn't deserve to be put in a place other than utility.

Good but damaged in shipping
This is a good, solid, sturdy bookshelf. But there was hardly any padding in the box, so when it arrived, the majority of the pieces had some kind of damage. The only option for returning was to mail it back and that didn’t seem doable at all, given the size, weight, and damaged box. Besides, if I wanted a replacement, I assume the next one would also get banged up in shipping. I decided to keep it, but wish it didn’t already look so beat up.

This shelf is so sturdy and looks beautiful. Not to mention such a great price. I normally don't like any kind of particle board or cardboard backing with my furniture but this definitely feels like solid wood due to the thickness but yet it still has a cardboard backing, but you don't even notice it once it is up against a wall and filled. For the prices they are asking for in the furniture stores, this was an awesome buy. Planning on buying another one for the other wall.

Royal pain in the rear
This bookcase was ridiculously hard to put together. when it was finally complete, the bottom half of the case is only held to the top half by 4 connector cam locks. Needless to say it is very unsteady. I had to buy bracers in the hopes they will help. Hasn't been done yet because I don't have a drill. Waiting on the kindness of neighbors to help me. I wouldn't by this again. Made from engineered wood (pressboard) and paper vinyl.

This is a terrible product. It's extremely difficult to put together, and the final product is just held together by dowels rather than a secure fastening, so it isn't structurally sound. I think this product is actually unsafe and I'm shocked they are selling it.
