Nicely packaged. Sturdy. Worth the price.
It was easy to assemble ( took about 1 hour); instructions clear and packaging was very nicely done. Each Step had a different section for the tools (screws, bolts, prongs and extra). Also had an extra section just in case something was missing.
The screws on the back are easier to put if you have a drill.
I bought 2 of them :)
We bought a similar bookcase from target seven years ago for a similar price and this is drastically lower quality. The sides of the book shelf are not wood! When it says wood frame, that is exactly what it means. The sides are essentially cardboard covered in wood stickers. It looks nice from the front, but I’m not happy at all with it as a whole.
horrible quality - 24 days ago, Verified purchaser
Outside of box arrived damaged, but its heavy so I didnt think much of this. But while unpacking the shelf, the larger pieces literally splintered apart while lifting it out of the box. Such a CHEAP product made out of plywood and recycled cardboard.
Honestly, if you are going to attach multiple long pieces of plywood that are barely attached to each other then LABLE THAT LONG PIECES WITH WARNINGS.
We use this bookcase in our home office, and it's proven sturdy and practical. Of the five total shelves, four hold large books such as hardbacks, while the fifth shelf at the bottom is a bit larger, big enough for over-sized books such as coffee table books. Each shelf is deep enough so that book spines are protected. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this bookcase again.
Fairly easy to assemble, the quality you would expect for the price. It looks nice in our daughter's bedroom. Not a forever piece of furniture, but fine if you want something that looks nice at an inexpensive price.
