Q: Are they oven safe? Not asking about microwave.
A: Borosilicate glass, like that used in Pyrex, is oven-safe and can withstand temperatures up to 450°F (232°C), but it's crucial to avoid rapid temperature changes (thermal shock) to prevent cracking or shattering. Borosilicate glass is known for its high thermal shock resistance, meaning it can handle temperature fluctuations better than regular glass.

Q: What kind of glass is this made of? If it breaks, will the glass shatter / splinter, or break in few big pieces? How easily breakable is this glass? Thank you!
A: Anytime you put cold water into glassware that has been heated, it will explode. You want to wait until your glassware has cooled to room temperature.
submitted bySpringT - 2 years agoA: they are very heavy and appear good quality but they do break and when mine broke it shattered.. the bowl was hot after removing cooked food from it and exploded as soon as it was under cold water.
