Problem with outside rain collector.
Rain collector unit stopped transmitting to base. Cleaned with water, and installed new batteries, but still will not record and transmit rainfall.

We apologize that your rain gauge has disconnected from the display, but we would be happy to assist! Sometimes when replacing batteries, a hard reset may need to be performed. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit together and remove batteries from the outdoor sensor. Make sure that the Wireless Reception Indicator on the display drops to zero bars to ensure that your display was connected to the correct sensor. (If your wireless reception indicator already indicates zero bars, please proceed to Step #2.) NOTE: If your display unit continues to show a strong connection, there is another sensor in your area that your display is connecting to (either a neighbor's or from another of your AcuRite units). If you have multiple sensors, make sure to use a different ABC channel on each. 2. Remove the batteries and/or power adapter from the display unit. 3. Change the A-B-C setting on both units to a new, matching channel then press and hold the reset button in the battery compartment of the display for 20 seconds, if applicable. 4. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 5. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit then immediately press and hold the reset button again for 20 seconds, if applicable. 6. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. If this does not correct the issue, please reach out to our support team via live chat or email request for further assistance.

The unit works well but this is the 3rd gauge I had to purchase from you company. The exterior unit always fails to stop sending out a signal after a few years. I guess this is your plan obsolesce.

Rainfall measurement inaccurate
I have had this for about a year and a half, so it is out of warranty. The wireless sensor and display seem to work okay. But the main benefit was to measure rainfall. And it is very inaccurate despite the many adjustments I made to the rain collector. In the morning, it reads .02" even though it has not rained overnight. And one of the cheap plastic tabs broke, so now it is held together with Gorilla Tape. No replacement part available. Communicating with customer support via chat is a joke. There was a time you could actually speak to a real person at AcuRite, but no more. My outdoor glass & plastic rain collectors are fairly accurate. The idea of having an indoor rainfall measurement is great, if it would only be accurate. Save your money.

The molded plastic collection funnel that directs rain into the measuring device is flimsy and the tabs that secure it will break if subjected to any strain (such as the wind, that brings the rain, blowing on it). The idea may be sound but, the pennies you saved on plastic, doom this product to the trash bin.

I would purchase this item again
I haven't had this item very long, so unable to comment for long time usage. As of now, it works great. Especially like not having to go out and empty the water out of it. Nothing to do with the item itself, but my fence leans a little, so trying to get the unit as close to level as possible, took a little bit to complete. If there was a base that can be raised if needed to help level it out a lot better, I would be interested it that also

How disappointed I was after setting this up. I realised that when starting up, it is not possible to enter historical data for the past week, month or year to date. If the battery needs replacing, all data is lost. This is truly a very basic model .. would so easily have been made better by having a USB charging port and the ability to edit entries.

Like the easy access to sending unit batteries.
I like that I can look back at yesterday's rain fall. Would like receiving unit to also show rain fall for two, three or more days ago. My old Oregon unit would, but theirs does not any more. Only the last 7 days. That is why I purchased yours.
