A: This is the size I have always used for injection prep. Perfect size. These work well are are high quality.
submitted byRobert - 5 years agoA: Someone said in the comments section: "These are great little alcohol pads! They are 1 1/4" x 1 1/4", a nice little square. Haven't had a dry one yet. Would def buy again." 1 1/4 seems tiny to me.

Q: Why does the tag printed in English and Chinese inside the box say these pads are for "non-medical" use? Does that mean they are not good for injection site prep?

Too small, has barely any alcohol. It is that small, that it is hard to grab with the fingers. Too small to even clean a phone's screen. The paper is around 2 inches long when opened.

These are great to have in general, but we have been using them like crazy the past few months to disinfect our infant rectal thermometer before and after use to ensure that it is free of any germs or bacteria. We have gone through a lot lately with having a 2 month old and a kindergartner who brings home lots of colds. I just love how convenient they are compared to using rubbing alcohol to disinfect the thermometer each time.

These have barely any alcohol on them. I usually buy BD Alcohol Swabs from another retailer, which are saturated with alcohol. These swabs are extremely thin like tissue paper, whereas the BDs have cushioned swabs that holds the alcohol and allow it to be transferred to whatever you’re wiping. I think there’s less alcohol in the packet too. You would need several of these to do the job of one BD, and even then I’m not sure there would be enough alcohol to adequately sanitize. Haven’t had them long enough to know if they dry out quickly before being used (BD packages theirs well), but they were so dry there’s no room for evaporation if the packages doesn’t prevent evaporation.
