This book has been wonderful! The first sections provide wonderful insight into the WHY behind our anger and frustration and good reminders to think about how our children are feeling and why they are also feeling frustrated and angry and acting out (because, let's be honest, we are acting out, too ). I'm still working my way through the last bit about how exactly to go about changing my behavior and being a good example for my kiddo instead of inadvertently teaching her to be angry and fight, but I'm gratefully taking the help piece by piece and trying to be consistent in implementation. It's definitely a section I will continue to refer back to, over and over again. My advice to you? Don't just rent it! Buy it! You need this book on hand, not just to read it as a one-and-done, but as a handy guide to keep in your pocket for those times you notice you are slipping back into being an angry parent!

I would definitely recommend reading this book if you just want a new perspective on what you can do to change your reaction to your children's actions. A few things I did try that I never thought about trying worked with my son. He has strong emotions so I always have to consider that when I get flustered or upset. This book hit home for the struggling parent who just wants to get closer to their little one. It gives you strategies to work on your emotions to a negative situation.
I found the author relatable right off the back when I started reading, in that we all struggle in the beginning if we were excited for this new journey or not. Personally I never planned my pregnancy because I planned on NOT having kids. However this book hit home nicely on some tips I got from zoom parenting classes I've done over the past few years that have helped me excel as a parent. Would do well for parents who can't do classes like I have.
