Newer iPad models, including the Apple iPad (A16) 11-inch Wi-Fi (2025, 11th generation), do not have a physical Home button. Instead, they rely on a combination of buttons and gestures. Here's how you typically start (turn on) the screen: Press and hold the Top Button: This is the most common way to turn on your iPad. The "Top Button" is located on the top right edge of the iPad when holding it in portrait orientation (or on the top left edge when holding it in landscape). Press and hold this button until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen. Once the iPad is on and in sleep mode, you can wake the screen by: Tapping the screen: A single tap on the screen will often wake it up. Pressing the Top Button: A quick press of the Top Button will also wake the screen. To turn off the iPad (power down completely): Press and hold the Top Button and either Volume Button simultaneously. A "Slide to Power Off" slider will appear on the screen. Drag this slider to the right to turn off your iPad.
