Q: is this the typical 'clumping' litter that can be cleaned by scooping out just the clumps? Or is it designed to be cleaned only be removing all of the litter at once?

  • A: Hi Michael, Yes, this is a clumping litter. You can remove clumps and solid waste daily to keep the rest of the litter fresh. More litter can be added to replace what you have scooped out.   • A: Completely scoop-able. It’s a fine consistency that’s probably a more natural feel to cats. We have 4 litter boxes set up. This is our favorite litter. We’ve used many. OF NOTE: Do NOT get the “platinum” premium version of this litter - the scent is overwhelming after a couple days. It will take over an entire living area. Stick with the regular version - nice light scent.

  • A: This Slide litter is so easy to scoop out both the urine and the poop. I have 3 cats and I scoop two litter boxes twice a day. I add fresh litter to the existing litter every 2-3 days. The scent is mild and very pleasant. My friends say they wouldn’t even know I have cats if they didn’t see them. I consider that to be a great compliment.

Q: What happened to the handle at the top of the box? My most recent two boxes don't have them. They make handling the 28lb box much easier when you have to carry it or pour it. Is it gone for good?

    Where are the handles?

    Have used for years and have it delivered bc IT’S HEAVY. Got some delivered today and there are NO HANDLES ON THE BOXES. I had to drag the boxes inside from my front porch and they are sitting inside my doorway. I LITERALLY have no idea how I will get them to the room where the litter boxes are. As an older person who lives alone, this is quite stressful. If this wasn’t a production error, then the corporate greed is unmatched. Very disappointing!

    Give us our handles back!

    I have 11 inside cats and have used this litter for a long time because it clumps wonderfully and doesn't stick to any of the litter boxes - metal or plastic. I order it online because I need about 4 boxes a week. HOWEVER the removal of the handles is a huge drawback and I may see if something else works as well now. I don't know what brilliant person there decided that they didn't need to put a handle on a 28 pound box you have to carry around and then tilt and pour but they've obviously never actually tried to do it. The new opening style was bad enough already and then they took the handles away? I hope the 3 cents a box they are saving on the handles is worth it.

    Where is the handle

    Here among others to let the brand know that the lack of handle is incredibly annoying. I’m a relatively fit, strong young adult and hoisting this box up the stairs to the litter box is quite difficult.

    Handles Missing

    I have used this a long time. Best I have found for clumping, controlling scent and no dust. Why in the h..ll do you keep changing the packaging? The last order I just received from Chewy has no carrying handle nor a plastic handle on top. This makes it more difficult than it already is to lug around. Very very disappointed and will begin looking for an alternative. Someone should be fired for this decision and should be forced to lift these all day long for a year non stop.

    The handles are missing!

    The handles are missing! Product is good, but the 28 lb boxes no longer have a handle for carrying them. Having to struggle getting these boxes upstairs have me researching other brands to purchase instead.

    Ok. I have not tried Slide yet but I have used Clump & Seal for years. And I join the other reviewer, where is the handle. I am 75 years old. I MUST have a handle. Just for no handle I may need to change products. Pleeeze return the handle.

    Slide litter 28lb boxes with no handle

    I personally love this litter. But they have removed the plastic handle on the 28lb boxes. I am 65 years old and although I was able to lift and move the 28lb boxes, I cannot do so since the handle is removed. I do love this litter. Cannnot move the 28lb box easily anymore. I do not know what the reason was for removing the handle but the decision has made my litter routine difficult. I do not believe they did this in the best interest of the consumer. My thought is they are being cheap. Corporate greed strikes again. I used to use several Arm and Hammer products. I now use none. Thank you, to the powers that be at Arm and Hammer. I do hope the pennies you have saved, that are going to cost you sales across the Arm and Hammer board, is worth it. I wish all the corporate executives who voted on this change of packaging a lovely life. Enjoy it while you can.

    Bring back the handle & easy opening!

    I have used this litter for years now, but I started getting frustrated when they changed how to open the box a couple of years ago. It is super hard to open, and now that they've removed the handle, I'm done. The older I get, the harder it is to handle a 28 lb box of cat litter, especially without a hammer.

    Creepy, dense black litter!

    Terrible and creepy black litter with some whitish stuff. Can't find what it's made of.CAN BARELY SCOOP any messes out since it's so dense takes lots of pressure to dig in.
