Delightful family game
The 5-page rulebook was clearly laid out with plenty of illustrations, which makes it a relatively easy teach. Gameplay was fun and the components are of a quality you would expect from Lego. Very enjoyable for both kids and adults.

Kids Enjoy This Game
Our middle school aged kids love this game. It was easy for them to get the hang of it! Obvioulsy is LEGO-- so well made to last a long time. Only complaint is that it is a little bit pricey. But again, it's LEGO.

YouTube gameplay video for the win
We LOVE this game. That said, we watched a video on how to play after attempting the instructions. They are long a complicated, but the video by the channel Watch It Played got us playing and enjoying the game. It was so fun to see our Monkey Palace grow and my tween and teen have asked to play this game many times since opening it on Christmas day.

Fast Paced Game Play
We've liked other LEGO board games so we were excited to get this for our 8-year old. The rules are a bit complicated, but with a dedicated step reader describing each step of a players turn for the first round or two it was easy to catch on and get up to speed. Gameplay also ramps up quickly once players have a few monkey cards, so the game doesn't take very long. We also just keep the decoration bricks in with the rest of the bricks rather than decorating which speeds up set up a lot. You can always decorate extra at the end!

Way too complicated for kids... and adults
This game is vastly overcomplicated. Not only was it not suitable for the age 10+ as stated on the box, we had two PhD’s at the table who were also confused. It took 40 minutes just to read the 8 pages of instructions. I hate to say it, but this is a mess of a game and not at all worth it.

Great game, hard to follow instructions
I have a lot of the older Lego board games. Many were super simple and not very fun to play. Monkey palace is a lot more in depth than older Lego board games while still being relatively simple. My one major complaint is the instruction manual is hard to follow and laid out a bit weird. I suggesting reading full instructions before first play through.
