A: Great question, the mat is approximately 3/16” thick.

A: The holder does NOT hold the piano in place. A 7 week old baby can kick it over or out of reach in no time. The screws easily loosen on their own. Piano slides around on slick mat.

It’s got all the features you look for for tummy time and somewhere to lay and play for even younger babies. You could start using it from day one easily with the soft padding. The colors are bright and engaging for a young baby, and the farm theme is super cute in a nice, gender neutral way. The build is pretty standard, but that’s because if something isn’t broken there’s no need to fix it! The arches are soft but sturdy and have cute stuffies hanging down for baby to kick at and reach for while on their back, and to encourage getting into the crawling position and reaching from the tummy. The unique feature is the piano! It’s got big keys so even really insteady baby hands can make it work. Even toes! But unlike most mats that aren’t very useful after about six months, the piano keeps the toy going for what could easily be a year or two! It detaches and can be carried around. When kiddo is older than can still enjoy it. It’s even good for a long car ride for little kids that need to be engaged while rear facing but they’re too small for a tablet or to read for themselves. That really sets the mat apart than others for me. I’ve had a few kids and been through a few mats and this one has the best staying power of any we’ve used!

The piano is bigger than I expected, which is great as it’ll grow with baby. He can play with it while crawling on his belly and when he’s sitting up it’ll be easy to use as well. The piano has two volume options and three different modes. The toys can either be hung for baby when they are laying on their backs or can be unhooked while doing tummy time. Our baby liked the pillow to help support during tummy time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve been really happy with the 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Musical Meadow Gym so far--one of our favorite features is the tummy time bolster—such a game changer. Our old play gym (used with our older child) didn’t come with one, and we used to have to roll up swaddles to get the same effect. Having a dedicated, supportive bolster makes tummy time so much easier and more enjoyable for baby. I also love the shape and color cards that come with it—such a nice touch for early learning—and it’s great that you can switch out the hanging toys or add your own to keep things fresh as baby grows. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the feel of the mat. The polyester fabric is pretty standard, but we do wish it was made with a softer cotton or at least a cotton-blend—it would feel better and be a bit more baby-friendly. Overall though, it's a fun, versatile gym and I see it getting a lot of continued use as baby grows.

Piano doesn’t play anymore, it gets stuck like a broken CD. I tried looking up to replace the piano but nothing so now I would have to buy a whole other play mat which is completely ridiculous. Maybe it will work for others and my baby is a super baby.

Baby really like this keyboard. We’ve had it for 6 months. I just noticed it doesn’t work properly anymore. When you press one button, it skips to a different one. So it is saying the wrong color and animal. That is confusing for the baby. It broke faster than expected and it sucks because the baby really likes it
