Description

The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit is the original, patented swaddle transition product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy, secure feeling. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies' sleep. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib only in a room at the recommended temperature for babies. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit should not be used for co-sleeping or with any sleep positioners. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, breathable jersey cotton inner layer and a cotton outer layer with a layer of polyfil in between for just enough comfort. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age when babies are transitioning from the swaddle. Babies should be transitioned out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they roll over or try to roll over in it and are ready for more freedom of movement in their sleep. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit provides your baby with a cozy and calming sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Baby Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid in baby's sleep patterns, and give parents peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development.

Q: I wanna try this but do the sleeves keep baby from the startle movement or how does this work exactly?

submitted by Di - 4 years ago
  • A: The Sleepsuit is designed with 3 layers of fabric to give babies a cozy, comfy feeling for transitioning out of the swaddle. The Sleepsuit is not weighted but is effective for muffling the startle reflexes. Please contact us directly if you have any product questions. magicsleepsuit@gmail.com or 877-458-0130.

  • A: It kept my at the time 1 month old asleep better than the swaddleme, it allowed him to move his arms as he wanted but not to fast or sudden.

Q: what temp should I keep my house? my baby wears a footies pj set and a light weight sleep sack right now. I want to start him on the suit but I'm afraid he'll over heat now that we are going into summ

submitted by kylie - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be used in accordance with the safe sleep guidelines including the ABCs of sleep (Alone, Back, Crib) and in a room at the AAP recommended temperature for babies, which is on the cooler side. It is designed with open hands and feet, which allows baby’s heat to dissipate as they sleep. We recommend dressing the baby in a diaper or a onesie under the Magic Sleepsuit - no more than one layer of light cotton.

Q: What is the TOG on this sleepsuit.

submitted by AP - 2 years ago
  • A: There is not a Tog rating on the Magic Sleepsuit as there are with sleep sacks and swaddles due to the fact that it is designed with open hands and feet that allows your baby's heat to dissipate while they sleep. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, please contact us directly with any additional product questions. magicsleepsuit@gmail.com or 1-877-458-0130.

Q: What do you recommend for the next product to transition of out the sleep suit? My 5 months is about to be too big for it but it has been amazing

submitted by Kal - 2 years ago
  • A: We recommend the Magic Dream Sack. It is a wearable blanket made from the same materials as the Magic Sleepsuit so that babies can continue to sleep well in the cozy fabrics they have grown to Love. By using the same material and two layers of fabric to create a comfy and secure feeling, the Baby Merlin ‘s Dream Sack provides your baby with a familiar sleep environment.

Q: Is this safe to let them wear in a bassinet?

submitted by Nicolecp - 3 years ago
  • A: Because babies' arms and legs are in the outstretched position when wearing The Magic Sleepsuit, their sleep area should be large enough so their arms and legs do not touch the side of the sleep space. Smaller sleep spaces can cause the fabric to shift. Many parents transition to a larger sleep space at the same time they are transitioning to The Magic Sleepsuit.

Q: my baby is going on 4 months on 12/24/2020 and he is chunky and weighs you can say 20 pounds. which one do i get ? i need to start leaving is arms out.

submitted by AmandaN - 3 years ago
  • A: Proper fit and timing of introduction are essential to the success of the Magic Sleepsuit. A good rule of thumb to use regarding sizing is to match the Magic Sleepsuit size to the clothing he wears consistently outside of the crib. When he is wearing 3-6 month clothing, the 3-6 month Magic Sleepsuit will be a better fit. Likewise, the 6-9 month Sleepsuit fits better when your little one is wearing 6-9 month clothing. The baby's weight and size of clothing are more important factors than length as the hands and feet are open by design.

Q: My 8 week old is almost 15 pounds, is it okay to try at 8 weeks old? My older son was rolling over by 3 months so just not sure if it makes sense waiting or is trying now will work/ be okay since she meets weight measurements.

submitted by Rainbow Baby - 3 years ago
  • A: At 8 weeks, she is still on the very young side to introduce as her startle reflex may still be too strong. Most parents introduce at 3 months when transitioning from the swaddle. We recommend keeping a close eye on her as she become more mobile inside to ensure she can’t wiggle out. Many times when parents introduce early they have a short period of great success as she is so cozy, then when they become more active the “Magic”wears off because it’s too big.

Q: 4 month old has started to roll over. Is this safe to wear?

submitted by KB - 4 years ago
  • A: It is recommended that babies transition out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they can roll over while wearing it, or seem to be trying to roll over in it. This is a sign they are ready for the next stage of sleep of having more freedom of movement. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib from the swaddle transition stage until babies are ready for that next stage of having more movement. Often babies will roll while awake and out of the Magic Sleepsuit well before they are able to roll over while in it.

Q: What is the weight limit for 3-6months?

submitted by CP - 4 years ago
  • A: For the 3-6 month suit, the weight guidelines are 12 to 18 pounds.

    Brand expert

Q: Does my baby need to be a certain weight to wear this?

submitted by SAK - 4 years ago
  • A: Our minimum weight for the 3-6 month size suit is 12 lbs. Proper fit is very important to the safety and function of the Magic Sleepsuit. We always invite customers to email us pictures for a visual sizing assessment at magicsleepsuit@gmail.com or call 877-458-0130.

Third transition swaddle that we tried, and the only one that works. It's a pain to get dry on low in the dryer so you'll need more than one.

My baby loved this! If he didn’t start rolling we would still be in it. It was perfect in between between swaddle and sleep sack. This is worth the money

Just buy a $20 sleep sack, they have the exact same effect but you don’t have to constantly dress and undress your baby. Sleep didn’t change in the least, if anything she woke up more often in the night.

Yall are crazy ?! My babys been struggling with sleep so the other day after lots of research I decided to go to Target to try this out. First of when i pulled it out of the box i was shocked at how large it was..my baby is 15 pounds and it looked huge on him. It was difficult to get on the leg and arm holes were tight i had to pull my babys limbs through which obviously upset him i cant imagine doing that during nighttime diaper changes...the suit made him look like a sumo wrestler he was screaming and panicked...it feels heavier then the tog 3 sleepsack i have for when hes older...i do not get the hype...its going back today he never even wore it to sleep.

Amaaaaaazing. I was terrified to transition out of the swaddle. My little guy started the 4 month sleep regression and was breaking free from the swaddle so out of desperation I bought this and it has helped SO much! He can’t break free from it and it really seems to relax him. He isn’t sleeping through the night… yet. But we are getting a little back on track with the Merlin! I would recommend to any new parent.

Our baby would wake up 2x/night didn’t have horrible sleep problems, but would move & startle easily & a lot. We wanted to get our 3 month old more quality deep sleep. We tried this one night & she slept 11 HOURS straight when she would only do 4-5hrs at a time before using this. Didn’t even wake to eat! Also, naps were an issue. She wouldn’t nap in her bassinet or for more than 1/2hr. We put her in this for a nap after the first night of sleeping in it & she napped the next day for a little over 2 hours. We had to wake her! Again today, she napped for 45 minutes!! This product is amazing & very well made. Just the right comfort for our little girl. We bumped our thermostat down to 70 from 73 & we keep socks on her in the suit, but nothing underneath. She feels just the right temp when we take it off or open it for a diaper change. Very easy to just throw in the washer with dreft detergent & either hang dry or dry in the dryer. We used the dryer. Low heat & let it dry & right when it was dry we took it out. Didn’t let it keep going. Fits fine still. Thank you to whoever invented this🙌🏼 Now mommies & baby can ALL get sleep! 10/10 would recommend.

My daughter between 9 and 10 weeks has been sleeping thru the night (bedtime 7-7:30 pm and waking anywhere between 7 and 8 am). She started rolling over just before turning 4 months so I had to stop swaddling - I decided to try cold turkey. For 3 days straight, I put her in a sleep sack and every day she woke up 5:30 am. Her arms were everywhere - she couldn’t control her movements and could not put herself back to sleep. I purchased this - it’s been 3 nights in it now and since night one in it, she’s back to sleeping her normal waking between 7 and 8 am. Great transitional product. It’s thick so I put her in only a onesie underneath and I put socks on her since her feet are out. We keep the temp at 72 at night and she doesn’t feel neither cold or hot when I get her in the morning.

I’ve used the Baby Merlin Sleepsuit since my son was 2.5 months old and could safely fit in the Small size. He fought sleep at night and I figured I love a weighted blanket, so maybe he’d like a layer of cozy compression. This suit makes nighttime so easy and covers both warmth and soothing, and he’s been sleeping in it every night for the last 2.5 months. I just ordered the Large size and it’s just as effective. Save your money, don’t pay for online grift classes that promise to help babies sleep. Invest in 2 suits so you always have a clean one if baby spits up or pees through their onesie. The team at Baby Merlin also offers the best customer service I’ve encountered.

I can’t even get over how amazing this sleep suit was in helping my 2 month old sleep through the night. My husband and I tried so many different sleep sacks to help our baby sleep with no real results. I finally bought the magic sleep suit and the first night we tried it, our daughter slept 11 hours straight and woke up in one of the best moods from being so well rested. This thing is truly magic! They might just end up being a go to baby shower gift for everyone

Day and night change when we started using this with our daughter! Immediately naps were longer and night sleep was longer. Everything was more consistent. Our daughter loves her sleep suit and we highly recommend to all parents as you transition from the swaddle but before an open arms sleep sack. It’s comfy but still light weight. Also it’s NOT weighted if that’s a concern for anyone.

My 12 week old was suddenly fighting her swaddle. I tried one arm out, both arms out…didn’t work. She was waking 2-3 times a night. First night with this swaddle she slept through (10 hours so far as I write!). This worked for my middle child as well. My first transitioned fine. It’s not for every baby but it works like a charm!

You need to buy! It’s literally magic. I was searching for a good transition from the swaddle and was confused on which brand to buy. I’ve read so many reviews for so many products and decided that the magic sleep suit would be the first one I tried and I’m so happy I did. It’s super soft and comfy. My baby slept well being swaddled but would wake up sometimes at 3am 4am and 5am. He would kick around in the swaddle like crazy and would need a pacifier to fall back asleep. The first night with the magic sleep suit he slept like a baby, literally. He didn’t wake up like he used to and if he did, he was able to self soothe himself back to sleep. The only con is that it’s harder to put on the a swaddle since you have to put the legs and arms in one at a time. But still worth it! 100% would recommend. Also he doesn’t sweat too much the suit. They recommend leaving feet and hands uncovered. I just put on a tshirt bodysuit and he seems very comfortable

Starting using this with my daughter at about 6 weeks because of her “busy arms” - hated the swaddle because her arms were against her but would hit herself in the face all night with the arms out. Then came the Magic Sleepsuit. WHAT A FIND! She consistently sleeps 8 hours at night and knows right away that it’s sleep time when we put her suit on at bedtime.
