Uses

Uses helps prevent sunburn, if used as directed with other sun protection measures (see Directions), decreases the risk of skin cancer and early aging caused by the sun.

Directions

Directions Shake well Hold container 4 to 6 inches from the skin to apply spray liberally and spread evenly by hand 15 minutes before sun exposure do not spray directly into face. Spray on hands and then apply to face. Do not apply in windy conditions Use in a well-ventilated area reapply: after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating immediately after towel drying at least every 2 hours Sun Protection Measures. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. wear long-sleeved shirts. pants, hats, and sunglasses. children under 6 months: Ask a doctor

    2nd Degree Burns

    I bought this specifically for the beach. Absolutely LATHERED myself in it, and was only out for less than two hours. I now have 2nd degree sunburns all over my shoulders and the most painful blisters. I have never ever burned like this before. I will never buy a banana boat product again.

    Did not protect

    Reapplied 3 times and my son still burnt... First application was a little under an hour before going out, then twice more while out in the sun, which over all was just under 3 hours. This did not work. We are all fried after using it.

    TERRIBLE COVERAGE - DO NOT BUY

    Took this floating down the river, reapplied multiple times, and still got burnt. Our sunburns were so blotchy and spotty, the coverage is terrible even if you rub it in. We were burnt, splotchy, and wasted the entire container between 4 of us in one day. Worst sunscreen I've ever tried.

    Worst sunscreen I’ve ever used. Reapplied ever 30-45 mins and still ended up with a terrible sunburn. Everyone who used it got burned. Everyone who uses Sun Bum was protected.

    Banana Boat falling down on its one job...

    After using BB products essentially since they became available solely due to--at least previously--having been trusted and reliable, our family picked up two brand new, unexpired cans of this product to take on a beach vacation. I also made my own for medical special case for myself, to be explained more shortly. Long story short, my wife and kids both received intense sunburns with Liberal application every 40 minutes with this BB SPF 50 product, while my own may have worked too well as I'm just as pale as when I left the previous week. I'm okay with that, and we ended up ditching the second of the two canned product for mine after everyone else went lobster on day two. We even used up one entire can on the first day, as I don't mess around with frequent application. Looking further into the instructions and checking production dates, it's 'good' to 2028, and the instructions were followed to the letter. The curious part is step 4, which dictates to "Cover Up!" If I were to cover up after applying the initial two applications of sunblock, say, at the beach with a swim suit, why would I need sunblock in the first place?! At any rate, the wife and kids have already asked me to make my treatment in a spray application for next time.
