Bernzomatic FlameCommander Propane Torch 439713

Out of the box the igniter will not spark. When I light the gas with a separate lighter, the flame is very weak even when adjusting the knob.

Purchased this torch and the igniter doesn’t work. So much for nicer convenience, back to the old dependable striker.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I opted in to this product for my husband. It has been a great tool for starting brush fires on our land and burning off leaves. It also works great to start the grill. It is lightweight and easy to use. I did get the one without the propane bottle so had to purchase that separately. It’s so easy to ignite and control the flame. We haven’t had any issue with the flame puttering or going out. You can hold it at any angle to light which is nice. Fits in both our hands perfectly. Definitely glad we got this and as the weather starts to cool off I’m sure we will use it more and more. A few of our friends already had one and use it regularly.

I can use it in the kitchen to flambé a Baked Alaska. Or I can use it outdoors on a project. It’s fits comfortably in my hand. It’s not too heavy. I love that I can control the size of the flame by turning a nozzle. It’s easy to turn on and off. Be careful to dismantle it outside. It’s a really nice torch and the name makes sense because you’re in command of the flame size, when it’s on and your proximity to what you’re torching. Overall, I’m very impressed. Thanks for the opportunity to try this Flamecommander Torch, Bernzomatic and Influenster.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For someone who has never used a torch, it was very simple to use. There is a QR code on the box that sends you to the torch and instructions. I was very intimidated by the torch, but reading all instructions really helped. I wish the QR code was etched on the product, since there are no instructions included in the box. I’ll just have to bookmark in case I want to go back over the instructions. The torch is easy to handle and is very light weight. The flame is ignited by a trigger, and can be adjusted. I did not see a huge difference when adjusting the flame with the knob. Although the propane was not included, it was cheap to purchase separately.

This torch made the perfect gift for my dad who is constantly doing household projects and renovations! It is extremely lightweight and it has a knob that can turn 3/4 so you can angle it however you please. The gas is inexpensive as well that it requires. I feel confident using this torch myself for my wood working projects because it’s so easy to maneuver. I highly recommend trying this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This torch is easy to use with a one-click ignition and it's more comfortable than the standard handpiece. It's versatile enough for home repairs and DIY projects that need a medium sized flame like plumbing, woodworking, or epoxy resin crafts. It has a swirl flame which is hotter than a pencil flame and can heat more efficiently; give it a spin on a test project to feel the difference. I find this too bulky and imprecise for projects like jewelry repair where you need a small, focused flame. It could work for heavier gauge jewelry making if you don't mind the bulk and weight of the propane tank. One con: I wouldn't mind if it had a separate lock safety feature; as it is now you could accidentally knock the valve open after using it, and slowly leak propane. Always be sure to remove the torch handle from the tank before storing it.

My husband used this to create a cool wood burn look on our corn hole boards and then sealed it and they look fantastic. It has a nice even burn that is adjustable and a few safety features that make me much more confident using it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little torch is awesome. It feels lightweight but very durable. It's comfortable to hold and very ergonomic. The safety features make it safe to use without worry. I've used it for a few different home projects and also in the kitchen. I made creme brulee and flambe with it. I also used it during a plumbing project to gently heat some pipe for bending it to work in a tight space. We even bought one to include in the welcome basket we made up for the new neighbors because I feel this little torch is a wonderful tool to have on hand. I didn't know I needed one till Influenster gave me the opportunity to try this one. Now I don't want to be without it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bernzomatic is a name that is well known and trusted for torches. Today we tested their FlameCommander. It’s not heavy which is nice for us gals. It has an easy trigger ignition. You click once it starts the flame and it stays on without having to hold the trigger. To shut off, you just use the control knob which is also what you use to extend or shorten the flame. Has a very comfortable soft ergonomic grip. This can be used for DIY repairs, soldering and woodworking. My husband is using it for sweat soldering pipes. I’ll be using it for metalsmith jewelry making.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am glad that I got to try this torch for free because I would never purchase this. It is very hard to light and won’t stay late. It also leaks propane, which is extremely dangerous! The company needs to make some serious safety improvements on this item. After looking it up online, I saw the price point and it looks to me like other people have had similar experiences with this product as well. So this looks to be a consistent issue.

Instead of having to light the flame, this torch has an igniter inside making it ready to use anytime! There is a dial so you can regulate the flame and the handle has a good grip so you don't drop it. I have so many projects I can use this for!
